A few original pics: Oregon fair 2005

The Oregon Country Fair was this weekend. The weather was bad except for yesterday, so I didn't get many pics. I hope these will do - I especially like the one where the girl photographing the body painting is showing a little down back - kind of an added bonus :)

It seems every other person there is weilding a camera these days. I'll check the web for more pics and post them when I get a chance. Feel free to contribute -

enjoy,

Klondike

On the second picture, what is wrong with the dude in the middle of the picture? How can he not even be trying to get a better look???

That always has a negative effect, because most of those dudes cant take a discreet picture. Some events get ruined by over eager photogs, hippie girls at the oregon cnty fair are not the same as the mardi gras women or lake havesu drunk chicks, a whole different approach to shooting them should be taken. No way is a big group of men with cameras running to surround a topless girl going to encourage other women to get naked. I can tell by klondikes photos he knows how to do it right. Most these girls dont even know they were photographed, thats way to do it right, to keep it sustainable for the future.

If you look at other OCF galleries, you'll see lots of posed pics. The two babes in the fifth pic, for example, are "butterfly girls" (see their wings?) and they and some of the parade groupies will pose for pics. You'll also see friends posing for friends. But otherwise, you're right. Eighty percent of the topless babes don't care to be photographed so I shoot from the hip. Besides, I like candids better anyway, so it suits my style (and I like the challenge of trying to make something out them). The only time I'll shoot straight up is if I come across a girl who is already being photographed by someone else (last two pics). But then if thats a friends shooting friends situation and I'm not invited to the party - oops!
