why is it taking so long for a moderator to accept a post.

Probably because there wasn't a mod on line at the time you made the post. We moderators are all volunteers.
We are regular people with regular jobs and normal things that keeps us from being online 24/7.

Ordinarily, posts are approved within an hour or less, but there may be times that it will be two to three hours. We do the best that we can to get the posts up as soon as possible.
