Unzip it just as you'd do a zip file. That's how I do it anyway.

Download 7-zip, it's free. It will open rar, zip, and most any other compressed archive and "un-zip" them. 7-zip dot org for info, and can be downloaded there or at sourceforge dot net.

sorry

I can't get it to work no matter what I do.... I know others have the same problem........

Save As

If you have a number of RARs in a group you have to save them all to a file and then open them by clicking the first one and open it with WinZip. That is the way that I do it and that is all that I can offer.

If it is in fact a multi-part RAR file, eg xxx.rar.01, xxx.rar.02, etc. and there are parts missing, then WinZip or 7-zip or other freebies will bomb out. The original WinRAR program had a setting to partially extract, but I don't even know if that program's available anymore, and it wasn't free anyway. Otherwise, the compressed files may be just corrupted period.
Perhaps if you could point to the ones in question?

I haven’t heard you mention what happens when you try to open RAR files. Are there any error messages ? Exactly what kind of computer are you using ? What virgin of which operating system do you have ?? To which application are you feeding these poor innocent RAR’s to ??? What happens ????

Check this out, it may answer the questions that you have: http://www.wikihow.com/Open-RAR-Files
Your computer doesn't come with the necessary software, so you'll have to download a free copy or purchase
a program like WinRAR.
