why do photos now upload as attachments?
 

When uploading to a video sub forum, non video files (jpgs, bmps, etc) always used to automatically upload as photos that were displayed in the post. Now they upload as attached files, like videos, that need to be downloaded to view. What do I need to do to get them to be displayed as a photos to preview in the post? I can't see any changes in either the advanced or basic attachment methods that indicate what to do

Photos are treated the same way they always have been. Photos only show up as attached files rather than inline thumbnails when the original photo file is somehow corrupt and cannot be converted to a thumbnail. Perhaps there was a problem with the vidcap(s) you created?

You can always create a thread in the Post Testing Area forum to test things out.

Using VLC
 

I have been using VLC media player to create the screenshots for the photos. Will have to look into the settings to see if there is something that is causing this, or find another program to take the shots.

fyi. i have had a similar thing happen in the past, when the file seems to be small in size.
