I have installed the newest version and I always get an error (request failed) when trying to download images.

I've never used it on here, as most of the pics are in ZIP files.

But, I've used "Bazzacuda Image Saver Plus" to save pics I've opened in full , in their own tabs. Usually I open all the pics I want to save, then click the "Bazzacuda" "Save Images From Tabs" button. It automatically closes the tab, when it downloads the pics, so you don't have to.
