Oldie but Goodie...

"This was the most celebrated still picture in Hollywood as WW II began. It was reproduced by the thousands, and drove Cesare Romero up the wall as everyone would yell at him across streets, restaurants and other public places to say: "Ain't you the star of Carmen Miranda's latest picture?". It was shot at Ciro's Restaurant, on Press Photographer's night by a man innocently trying for a different angle by lying on his back on the floor. He got it!!

This was before pantyhose, obviously, and went all over the world."

great but

Great pic, but "innocently" lying on his back? :)

I just wonder if claiming "innocence" would hold up in court if I were to try that! :)

Thanks!! - don't mind me, just having fun...

Interesting story, concerning the photo Skerz57. The photographer would have been using a press-camera of some sort with a flashbulb on it using the antique "press" bulbs in it. Those were about the size of a 60-watt light bulb. "Innocently" lying on his back would have been something to see, given the bulk and size of the equipment at that time. But it's definitely a classic shot, that's for sure. Please see comment I added to the other post on the same pic subject.
