Paid Contributions?

Has it ever been considered to pay for members who may be able to contribute extremely original content/videos?

I was just about to post something similar, but rather, I think people who contribute original material should be awarded with subscription points (based on how much they contribute).

This makes perfect sense.

At the moment, people will post video material on filesharing sites so that everyone can access them. But if they had premium membership, they would post it in the video section. This in turn gets more people inclined to paying to see the material, which means more revenue for the site.

It also adds incentive to people to post original content in the first place, since at the moment there's nothing in it for them at all, except a "thanks".

It also has the added advantage of the material not being freely accessible, which is sometimes preferable (due to not wanting to upset people who don't want their image completely open to all).

A response from the admin would be appreciated.

I'm not the admin but, I'll try to answer.

Getting paid for your photos and videos is the line that separates amateur from professional. Since this is an amateur site, it's unlikely that anyone will be paid for their material.

The closest we have to something like that is the 'Ladies of OCC' section. Here's a link that explains how it works:

Membership in this section allows you to post photos, videos, ZIPs, RARs, etcetera. It also gives access to the rest of the site that would normally require a paid membership.

I hope this answers your questions.:D

Thanks. That answers his question, but it doesn't deal with my suggestion/recommendation.

I have linked this thread to Admin. But be patient for an answer, Admin is dealing with some Tech issues at the moment.
