And just so you know, photoshop allows you to create things called actions, which automates basically anything you can do in photoshop (such as image resizing), and then you can use that action to resize a whole batch of files in a folder. So you could resize them all with a few mouseclicks, and it would take 20 or so seconds for photoshop to resize them all.

Luckily I did use actions or it would have taken even longer! Resized them first time, were still too big, then I had to resample them from 180dpi to 72dpi; ended up creating two seperate action trees THEN had probs with default save settings in Save for Web (do you know its almost impossible to find tips on the web that tell you how to do that... seems like it should be so obvious. Finally found it on the preview screen; go figure). Anyway, finally finished, glad I could get the size down!
