"Asheville is going topless again."
Jul 5, 2012
Asheville is going topless again. The website Gotopless.org lists Asheville as one of the cities that will have a topless rally on Aug. 26, which it notes is Women’s Equality Day. The start time is 1 p.m. in Pack Square Park, according to the site. Last August, organizers held a topless rally Pack Square that drew dozens of women who bared their breasts. A considerably larger crowd of onlookers came downtown to witness the event. http://www.citizen-times.com/article...town-Asheville Can't wait! |
Lets sing this to the tune of "Funky N.A.S.A", if anyone can remember that one.
It would go something like this: "Ashville's got toplessness, Ashville's got soul" "mini skirts, open shirts and sexy paint jobs.." OK, I tried...:) And we'll probably need to put a pic or two up here to keep this thread from going under.. Klondike |

It doesn't seem like this event is getting franchised as quickly or successfully as the WNBR or the sl u walk. But then again, maybe their website is just not staying up to date on all the walks happening. For example, they list only nine American cities having walks, but I know there are more than that (Portland and Seattle are not listed for example).
So, I don't know - in any case, who would expect Ashville to have a major protest, I mean, you don't hear of too much else coming out of that town. But you never know. Anyway, maybe I can get to the Portland walk this year - if so, where should the pics go as this thread would have to be renamed maybe if they go here. KLondike |
Awesome. I would like to try to make it over to that. Last year's pics and videos were great. I'm just afraid that it will draw in a certain element from the surrounding countryside that will ruin the festivities, and I don't want to be counted amongst those masses.
And Klondike, Asheville is probably the most liberal city in the southeast, outside of maybe Key West. (That's not really saying a lot, though.) Lots of activists, hippies, and other types along those lines. So yeah, if I hear about a protest there, it's no big deal. If any city in the former CSA would do something like this, it would be them. |

you'll never hear me putting down the CSA :) In some ways its more liberal there than the current San Diego or LA! And if Texas was also part of the CSA, you'd have to mention Austin - I mean, there are hardly ANY towns in the US, CSA or otherwise, that get naked like Austin! Klondike |
