Capturing Stills....please read
 

OK, I have been posting for a while now and followed the instructions on how to capture stills for the movie section. I was told to use Irfanview, which I have. I was told to capture the still, paste it into paint and then save as a JPG.

I have done all that and am able to get the stills, however each time I save a still it comes out to be 963.5 kb, even when I reduce it down. The forum can only take a still that is 300kb.

Any suggestions

i use no 1 video converter
 

it is free from download.com
saves them in bmp form
then go to picture it and convert it to jpg
haven't had any problems yet
won't save images from real movie or quick time
it saves the image right into the folder the movie was in
free version will only convert movies at 50% from one format to the other
but the capture image works fine
will even let you specify size and how many captures per second

I use BSPlayer, and it just can't be any easier to take screen caps.

Play the video in BSPlayer and hit the "P" key. A screen cap is taken and saved to what every file you specified in the preferences section.
