Original photos - how much to post?
This is a real question for me but I tried to ask as a general question that will help future new posters, too.
Say I've shot a bunch of original photos of the same subject(s). How much does the community regard as appropriate to post? Even if I'm trying to reduce 100 shots to 25 so that people aren't overwhelmed or bored, I wonder if I'm still over the top and should really only post 10. Obviously there's no point posting two sequential shots that are almost the same, and I can differentiate within a small span of time. It's the big picture I get lost in. Do you look at averages, and aim for once photo for each minute of the session? Post every change of pose? Just the highlights? I think there's a vast difference of perspective -- when you were personally shooting the photos, your heart racing with the excitement, every shot in a session feels a lot more valuable to yourself than it is to an audience. How do you switch perspective to decide what the audience wants to see? |
I am assuming that you have been "lurking" for a while and looked at other posts. You've seen what's been posted, how it's been posted and what people like? With all that information you should be able to work it out. Simply post ten or twenty shots (2 posts) and see what the response is. It is not meant to be more than recreation, fun to do and share. You will soon see what works. you don't want to agonize over what and how to post.
If you want to. you could create a RAR or ZIP file of the other pics to accompany the ones you have posted, just for anybody who would like them and you can add that to the post of the "chosen" pics too. That way you would have given everybody the choice and your problem has been solved. Above all, enjoy it:D |
