downloading question
 

I may be technically behind the times, but I have a problem with some of the downloads. Specifically, the link shown in the post will say something like "http:\******\K5044" and I have no idea what to replace the ***** with. I've tried searching the forums (the one where the download url is located) as well as the site feedback forum, but it's difficult because the * is interpreted as a wild card character. The download link is not just in the vid forums, it also occurs in hardcore picture forums, too. Can someone please help me out of my ignorance, enlighten me, and get my fapping back to its normal rate?

When you see the asterisks it means the link has been added to the ban list, the url is blocked so that's all you see. If we see any banned links being posted we normally remove the post entirely, some older posts may still have these banned links, though.

Also, if anyone tries to bypass the ban or tells someone what the link should be they run the risk of being banned themselves.

OK, I understand the process. Question about the timing -- in a thread in occ-pics- xxx - FF Femmes Fracaises, post number 276, there's an example of the thing I'm talking about. The post is by Pawelski, a senior member, and the date of the post is 6-13-2011. From your reply, I would have expected this post to have been removed. However, it's by Pawelski, a senior member (who evidently should know better), so maybe in this case you left the post after changing the url, just because it's him (or her?). I know you're pretty fast about nailing watermarked pics and vids. Or maybe this is just too old?

Just trying to figure out how everything works. The site is actually one of the best I've seen, both for quality and quantity of content. Plenty of great pics and vids, and plenty of downloads, too. Reminds me of the old days of Voyerweb when Igor was about the only quality show in town (I just betrayed my age).

Well, it's funny you mention that thread, because pawelski contacted me a while back after I asked him to stop posting those links. This is a case where the link wasn't banned to begin with but was later banned because it features a "pay-per-download" option. I just removed some links but the thread is full of them, it's not worth going through it now and removing them.

The reason he was posting the links was because the forum had a 32MB size limit on zipfiles, this was later increased to a 100MB size limit. He asked if it was possible to increase the limit so he wouldn't have to use the links. Could he have used a host that wasn't banned? Yeah, but now everyone's happy and large zipfiles can be directly uploaded to the forum. Direct uploads are much better, not only is it more convenient but the files on a random upload site would be deleted at some point while the files directly uploaded here will never go away. After all, this forum didn't get over 2.6 million photos, videos and .zip files from download links.
