Can anyone help me with screen caps - I am on a Mac and not sure how to do screen caps - any help

- Ages-old Mac keyboard shortcut, Command+Shift+3, will take a pic of anything displayed on your screen, and save it to your desktop automatically.

and you can do command-shift-4, which will give you a crossairs, click (and hold) the top left of the area you want to catch, drag down to the bottom right, release, and you have a pic showing just what you want.

except you may have to open it in preview and save it as a jpg instead of a png, so you can do the cropping then, too...

You can adjust the system preferences to make the caps it takes JPGs from the start.

Sorry, I guess it's a little more complicated. Here's what I did (I looked it up with Google to remind me):

In Mac OS X 10.4 and later, the default screenshot format can be changed, by opening Terminal (located at /Applications/Utilities/Terminal) and typing in:

defaults write com.apple.screencapture type [image_format]
killall SystemUIServer

For "image_format" type jpg and eliminate the brackets. If that doesn't work, try .jpg (with the period)
