Gathering of the Tribes, '72, '73
 

How many people here venture down to the hardcore section daily? If you don't, then you probably missed today's posting in the hippies and dreadlocks thread. The following pics were posted there by nakedhippie and were brought to my attention by Zigamorp. They are from retro Rainbow gatherings, circa 1972 and 1973. Great stuff, and it showed me that recent Rainbow gatherings aren't nearly as naked as the older ones were.

more. I did a little research and apparently, the first Rainbow Gathering was in 1972, so these pics are from the very first two years! I read that 20,000 attended that first gathering, so clearly we are not seeing the entire group here. Maybe this was the most naked group, or perhaps nudity was as prevalent among the entire 20,000? Only a few can tell....
