"FEMEN"-ism in action
 

Some of you may be familiar with the Ukrainian women's group FEMEN, from osreb's posts on one of their demonstrations, or from a Free Sites video link (if you search for it, I think the term to use, because of a misspelling, is "ucrainian" or "ucraine") about their protesting the recent election there, as illustrated in the first picture here, or even from a set in the Upskirt & Downblouse forum (!); here, however, is a new cause: protesting "obscene" art in a museum. I especially liked how they posed in front of the enlarged photo, but were shot so as not to obscure our view of the bit they were presumably objecting to...

Okay, prompted by a recent effort of that indefatigable Gatling-speed poster osreb at https://forum.oneclickchicks.com/showpost.php?p=792015 , of which the first two here are bigger/higher-res versions of my faves therein, I've decided it's time to suppress my cynical knee-jerk response to protesters who could pass for porn queens, and, in deference to Klondike and others singing the praises of womanly beauty from that region, to take FEMEN seriously as legitimate naked (if only semi-, thus far) protesters. After those two, one from a commenter on their post of the toilet-protest set, then more of theirs from Kiev Metro, and even two pages of their upcoming "calendar"; given that those two months are named for Putin and Medvedev, in a clear swipe both at the two tsar-babies' hubris, redolent of the Roman imperial appropriation of July and August in the calendar of that far-off day, and at the notional independence of Ukraine from Russia, I'm not at all sure any more menses there should be expected. If there's any interest in my new obsession, I'll continue...

Oh, this is all so vintage Crispus :) The obscure historical references. The titanic vocabulary. The tie ins to Kings and Queens and voluminous OCC posters. I just can't get enough :)

Yes, I do believe (without actually having been to the Ukraine) that your everyday, garden variety Russian/Ukrainian woman is a babe, and that means that more than likely such will also be the case with a protesting one. They don't look like porn queens to me as much as they just look like your average Koktebel or Kazantip honey. I mean yes, they certainly COULD star in any adult movie while holding their own with the best of the silicon infested bunch, but they are also true, naturally born goddessess of which there seems an unending supply in those countries.

So, in otherwords, more from FEMEN would not displease me one bit...

K: Thanks indeed for indicating that my inchoate maunderings have not (or at least not yet!) utterly vitiated your pleasure in the pictures; I should probably, despite how it not only dates me but also exposes my cluelessness about the state of the genre in the 21st-century (outside, of course, of the friendly environs here at OCC), have clarified that when I described the women as resembling "porn queens," my mental referent was Sylvia Kristel, or perhaps Marilyn Chambers; when I think "silicon," to place me even further toward the Pleistocene, I think of Carol Doda, the first North Beach (SF) topless, then bottomless, dancer to go public with having indulged in that enhancement...here, then, some more from FEMEN. As we know, their public actions (as in 1) sometimes put them afoul of the law (as in 2); whether the next (3-5) are staged or not, I do not speculate; either way, thank goodness they are undeterred (6-10)...

Yes, as I was about to point out in this, my final post (until their next worthy action!) on FEMEN, the three main sources for good pictures have been the picasa account as above, their livejournal account ( femen.livejournal.com , which mostly, as far as I've gotten through it, duplicates the picasa pictures in its text, but has others in the comments), and the flickr account flickr.com/photos/femen/ ; there is overlap between them, but different coverage as well. These from a protest against the Ukraine secret police, one aimed at Secretary Clinton, and one described only as "Azarov pursued by Bloody Tits 'Krovosisi' " ...

I stumbled on them looking for Ukrainian fashion pics but these were the best thing there. The protest was all over the Ukrainian press. Notice the model in #2417748 (pic 8) is smiling.

Spanking pics were mostly tagged and copyrighted, even on the Femen site. I found a few thumbnails that weren't. There are at least two videos, both are funny. In one it shows them putting on slu, I mean "seductive" makeup and picking out their "seductive" schoolgirl outfits then hanging out backstage on a bed with the news reporter.


This the same busty women from Crispus's post 12, but I like the half shirt effect. I kept reading Clinton in the headlines and I was thinking "Protest Bill Clinton with topless college girls?" LOL

Found this news photo from a topless protest in Ukraïne. Those woman protest against the fact that nudity and topless will be forbidden when the European soccer championships will take place in Ukraïne and Poland.
May be someone has (found) more pics from this protest? ;)

Also worth noting: Femen's flickr account is still up (search users for "femen," though note that it's not been updated since August), and their livejournal account (femen.livejournal.com/) is also still up...

Few more from the protest mostly featured above, the one stevin6 asked about, starting with a larger version of his sample; from the description at russianforum.org:

Ukrainian women's movement FEMEN activists shout as they hold placards, reading "Balcony is a private property" and "There is rebellious balcony," on February 1, 2011 during a topless protest on a balcony in the center of Kiev against a Kiev city administration plan ahead of the Euro 2012 football tournament, ordering residents to keep their balconies empty and prohibiting them from appear on their balconies naked or half naked.

...but, as I noted just a few posts/days before yours, that account appears not to have been updated since August (unless, of course, anything newer is all private, in which case, if you've managed access, perhaps you'd favor us with examples!). A better flickr source for pictures including more recent manifestations, though not always at the largest possible size, is user horrorart: start at flickr.com/photos/56960652@N08/5248610301/ and work forward; you'll eventually find 20 or so cartoons, but don't give up, as there are another several photos leading to the most recent upload. As well as lots of fills, this stream also has some studio/publicity pictures, as the last two here; the first four, from different users, are of what appears as of now to be the latest action...

Didn't see your post. I didn't go through all the pics and alas I definitely didn't access anything I know as private.

A somewhat new place on picasa, picking up about where the deleted FEMEN account left off, is hxxps://picasaweb.google.com/104375188246847146689*; pictures aren't all as large as one might like, and are often byte-heavy (as 5-6 here). I haven't checked the livejournal site recently, either, so I can't say how many of the picasa ones might be bigger/better there, but at least it's a start...

Femen have new series of videos on their vimeo channel where they seem to be trying to get random passersby in the street to go to topless for them (to show they support the cause, maybe?). Most don't want to, but they have some success!
