Unsecure WiFi

I do not know why people do not use firewalls, or password protect their routers. We live in a small community, and if you search for availble networks there is always one that is unsecure....that is where I found these

Question?

How exactly does one log into someone's computer through a router? I have a HOT neighbor whose wireless network is unsecure and I wonder if she's got pics...

Yes, just curious, but almost same question: I understand that you could easily connect to her WiFi network, but after this how do you get access to her computer's content?
Some public, non protected, shared folder using SMB protocol?
Network sniffing to capture the data exchanged between her computer and the network?

how

I simply click on the icon, then network and sharing center, it then shows my PC Wireless. Click on it to see whos available....link to thier router, and then again to network and sharing center. It will then show you ever PC connected. If you click on the device, sometimes they open...it looks just like reading an external HD. Then just search for *.JPG

well, RickC1971 didn't say these were pics OF his neighbors, just pics from their PCs, if I understood him correctly. Actually, I see a lot of interesting variables to this. Tells you a lot about your neighbors, for sure. Imagine if you could activate the cam as well ... wow! Might see why Fido is so happy when she takes her mutt for a walk ... LOL!

I can see this working, just don't know how to do it myself, damn it! These frik'n techies can do anything with a link or hookup ... lol
:p

More than likely you are accessing the generic pictures folder under my documents. These are probably just pics saved from the web.

You're only accessing folders that people designate as "shared" which is typically not where the true gold can be found. I don't know how to do it, but assuming you can connect to other network PCs, does anyone know how to go beyond the 2 or 3 basic folders that are the default shared folders designated by windows?
