Presenting Tasha Diamant. Here is her bio:

Tasha Diamant is also a longtime painter with paintings in hundreds of corporate and private collections. She has been a journalist for national newsmagazines including Maclean’s and Australia’s Who Weekly. She has also been a yoga instructor and experiential workshop facilitator at the largest holistic health facilities in the US, Kripalu Center and the Omega Institute. She now teaches public speaking at Lethbridge College. Tasha lives in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada, with her two daughters and her husband, David Howell.

Basically she invited people to a gallery space one evening in order to stand in the middle of the room to be viewed...completely nude!

Can somebody clear up this mystery about the three naked audience girls in the video, which video?

Yes, if you click on the section that says "Artist Statement", there is a link on the top that says "Human Body Project Video" That is the one you are looking for. I didn't find it right away either.

What I like about the photos is how in the background are quite a few pretty younger girls, photographing and videoing every inch of her and generally ogling her sagging naked body and apparently getting quite a kick out of it. It's always a pleasure to see mature people exposing and humiliating themselves in front of a younger audience (and always a treat for the youngsters too of course.) You would think those girls might be ashamed to see a woman old enough to be their mother baring all in front of them, but not a bit of it. Very healthy attitude!

I love the whole nude life model vibe but find it surprisingly hard to find good pics and videos that show both the nude model and the people drawing her. Is there any chance a Good Samaritan out there could load up a few or direct me to an appropriate thread? Thanks very much.

Strange choice of words there. I don't think this "exhibit" has anything to do with humiliation. Quite the opposite, actually. The way I read it, it's all about empowerment and pushing comfort zones, both Tasha's and the spectators'. I don't really see where humiliation comes into the equation, especially because it is Tasha's choice to do this.

Being stark naked in front of everyone you know is obviously humiliating on a certain level, even if you make it happen yourself and even if you claim it's for "artistic" and "empowering" purposes. Even exhibitionists and flashers admit that the rush comes from an element of embarrassment and wrongness about the whole thing, otherwise it'd be no big deal.

Obviously, being stark naked in front of everyone IS a big deal to this woman, since she's the one making such a big deal about it and making it into some grand public exhibition for the whole world, including her family, to see. I wouldn't be surprised if it's a cry for help on some level, the same as when women with long beautiful hair suddenly chop it all off during times of stress.

On some internal level she surely knows what she's done to herself, and that a certain degree of self-respect has been lost forever, no matter how noble or lofty a setting the self-exposure was done in. She's cute, and I'd hit it, but let's face it, she looks ridiculous.

She pretty much admits all this on her "artist's statement" page where she calls herself "flabby" and says her self-exhibitionism is all about "vulnerability". She also says, "It's hard! I am not comfortable without my defenses". In other words, she is indeed humiliating herself knowingly for the entire world to see.

going to museums in Germany can be interesting. These are from the Museumsnackt in Chemnitz (former Karl Marx Stadt). Same concept has been tried in Dresden too - the visitors get to have a shot at making their own akt drawings.

I once took a drawing class, and was surprised that girls volunteered to pose nude when the instructor only requested posing in swim suits. The photos are not from the class I took, no photos were allowed there.

This is a fantastic video of Tasha Diamant naked in one of her public talks. She is joined by a female who is a former audience member at one of Tasha's previous shows. This video is 55 minutes and Tasha and her friend are naked the entire time. At one point Tasha even makes herself go into the crowd of people to face her fears. Her and her friend (Meagan I believe is her name) speak of being embarrassed throughout

Thanks Fango, I appreciate it. I actually had seen that one a few years back. I was hoping to see the spontaneous decision to disrobe, rather than read about it in the captions. My favorite part of any Frank Moore video is watching a woman who is reluctant to undress do just that, in front of dozens of people, some of who she knows.

Those clips are still on Vimeo, though, as far as I know.

My wife thinks this is a great idea. She would love to be nude in front of everyone we know just once. She almost comes from the thought.

Better yet, she wishes she could have stood nude in front of her high school when she was about 17 and show what a great figure she had----and tell the boys that they couldn't have any. Her mother made her wear such conservative clothes, no one knew what she had until I discovered her secrets. I told her I could take some of her nude photos from our dating years (see "Fond Memories of Dating" in the non-fiction section of OCC) and show them around at her next class reunion. She said probably not.

The videos are not anymore in Vimeo. Knows anyone if I can find them?

When I was 18 I posed nude for a sketch artist. I had known him quite a while and I was comfortable being naked in front of him. Thing was, he digitized the sketches onto his computer and made several variations of the sketches he did. His computer skills refined the sketches to almost photographic quality. His sketch/computer area was in the corner of his living room and often the pictures of me were on his drawing board or monitor for anyone to see.

So Kavilopov, I think you have it right .. it was embarrassing knowing so many had seen me nude, but at the same token , it was very exciting knowing others were seeing me naked. Once the initial humiliation of knowing guys who knew me had photographic knowledge of my naked body wore off, it almost DID become an empowering feeling
