The term "starfish" has been around for a long time. See urbandictionary.com or the Limp Bizkit album "Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water" which debuted at number 1 on the billboard charts way back in 2000.

I had to thank you - fbpres110 you are 100% correct. Starfish shots are not the same as regular ass shots, but the timing usually has to be just perfect.

I remember partying (drinking) with my wife, my cousin and his wife. We were playing a cards and taking photos of each other. The wives were getting pretty drunk and decided it would be fun to start flashing and mooning the camera. Of course neither of us guys had any problem with that and I tried to get as many photos as I could. Not only are these treats known as starfish (full name Chocolate Starfish), but there was an Australian Band in the late 80's known as Chocolate Starfish which was a reference to this. Limpbizkit also had an album by the name of "Chocolate Starfish and the Hotdog Flavoured Water" (the mind boggles). Lastly my little websearch brought up some delicious Chocolate Starfish that you can serve up at your next wedding, YUM!
