Sauna "Bucket Shower"

Sorry about the "pro pics". The first picture is a delightful lady having a "jet shower" treatment at a health spa. This is supposed to be good for toning the skin and body. The therapist alternates hot and cold water or uses just cold (I like to think she has opted for the cold only treatment!). The next is a "bucket shower" which is full of ice-cold water. It is used to cool down after being in a sauna - it must be a really intense sensation! It's a shame we can't see her facial expression...

On a similar theme, ladies being ducked or dunked on the ducking stool can be cool, too.
Alnwick in England has an annual fair, until it ended last year (no fair last year) in which they had a ducking stool and deep tank of cold water. Nominally "victims" were selected from the audience- usually women in costume- but generally, especially, later years, these were more often asked/persuaded people from the crowd who were given a costume to wear. |

Great pics - thanks! There are some pictures of girls pouring big buckets of (presumably) ice-cold water over themselves in the "hot snow" and "greetings from the sauna" threads - these are great! Are there any videos out there of this activity (think it's called "dousing").
