I really appreciate these women putting in the effort and flashing their opponents boobs, but perhaps someone should talk to the coaches about, hmmm, how to say this tactfully . . . putting more photogenic players in the water. :o

I'd bet a state dinner the coaches tell the players to do this :D

On Monday, courtesy of the red button, Iwatched the first few ladies matches in this Olympiad. At one stage the commentator stated "There's quite a lot of costume grabbing going on", but presumably the producer & director were under instructions not to give close ups of such things :( Briefly in the 2nd quarter there was a glimpse of Spanish nipple.

This is actually an intentional tactic. My sister used to play waterpolo in high school and told me that they used to pin their costumes to help stop it happening. The idea being that the opponent is not going to keep playing with a boob hanging out and will stop to fix herself giving you a chance to score.

Then it would be more fair if they all played naked :cool:

Also, many years ago I remember watching a television show about a mixed gender water polo team, and one of the players said that she deliberately wore a skimpy bikini, to distract the male players on the other team. A clever idea, but I never understood why it wouldn't also distract the male players on HER team.

I was at the Olympic Water Polo tonight, but didn't see anything sadly. Not much seems to have come out (so to speak) this Olympics compared with previous ones?
