HOWEVER...

What's the deal with that RealJpeg icon? It's been in this mix and the last one. It ruined otherwise remarkable pics. Are you on a Mac and can't easily find freeware for JPGs? Or is it something else? I noticed this only happens about halfway through the mix. Maybe, if you can't find freeware, there's a way you could "trick" the program into not putting that icon on...

If you can figure out a way to get that icon off, could you possibly re-up these 4 pics without the icon:

Sorry about that, Fango, I hate it too. It's a damn trial period program I downloaded that changes BMP's to JPEG's. I'll find another software for it and I'll attempt to recapture the pics you want. Of course, if OCC would just allow BMP's..... :p

If you are on a Windows XP PC, you can just use MSPaint to save any picture as a JPG. A freeware program that I use called SlowView does the same thing. If you're on a Mac, I can't help you, sorry. :(

Image Programs
 

Never believe that you have to PAY to get good image programs. Of course, for those of us, who must tweek the snot out of every pic, there's no substitute for PhotoShop, but IrfanView is the SHIAT when it comes to viewing and basic functions like BMP to Jpeg. It even allows you to select the compression ratio (the less compression, the less chewed up the image is, but the bigger the file -- I like BIG FILES!).

Consumer Reports just rated photo software, and in the FREE section, they liked PICASA (Goggle's freeware) and Irfanview. ACDSee is good to but not free.
