Roskilde Nøgenløb 2025

I'm not going to sugarcoat it for you guys. Despite the perfect weather, this wasn't a great year. There were roughly 25 total runners, but only about 1/3 were female. And the press coverage wasn't great, with only Ekstra Bladet doing a livestream this year (it looks like Seoghoer.dk bowed out, opting for a "live blog" instead), and that was shot from very far away, so there isn't a lot of great footage.
The good news is that the winner was a very cute blonde. She also ran last year, and I remember wishing that we'd have more photos/video of her, so I'm thrilled that she returned. I'll post below what photos I have so far. Hopefully we'll see more popping up in the hours/days to come. |

Here's the livestream. The quality isn't great. It's possible that we'll see HD video posted later on, so I'll stay on the lookout for that.
Like I said above, most of the video is from far away. The screenshots below show a couple moments where we got a little bit of a closer view. gofile.io/d/SNSZIo |

Thaks to Ilas123 for the background information, as well as those video links. I'm glad we got some HD footage of the winner's brief post-race interview. It's nice consolation for what was otherwise a disappointing event.
I also wanted to correct something I mentioned in my first post above: the winner previously ran the race in 2023, not last year. She actually did a quick interview that year too. If anyone's interested, I clipped that part of the video and posted it below. The clip starts with her in the background (and mugging a little bit for the camera) while the male winner is being interviewed, followed by the interview with her and a friend. Since the winner gets free tickets to next year's festival, hopefully that means she'll be back next year, and run a third time to defend her title. gofile.io/d/158vW5 |

It is a pity to see how this tradition comes to a pitiful end. I've been looking forward to the photos here every year for a very long time :(

If most of the interesting things are happening in non-anglo countries (most people on these forums are angosphere based) then we need to reach out to people who can help. We can't just sit around complaining that our favourite things are going away and not do anything about it. |
For what it's worth. The event itself is not really dying. Turnout is as big as usual, at least for the men, and now they also include wheelchair users and their professional helpers (imagine a female wheelchair user doing it with their female paid helper, that would be something). Crowds this year were also the biggest in many years.
They do have huge problems getting women to run, though, as you can also see. The organisers had walked around for three days in the camps asking girls to run, and not a single soul was down for it. All women who ran showed up in person and registered themselves to run. And I also think that is why they are now trying to restrict the press from going too close to the participants. At least they can't forbid them around the running field completely as they have the right to be and film at all places in the campsite. But the media presence is definitely why it's so hard to get women to run, I would suggest, and you can feel a growing dislike of the tabloids being there. Especially Ekstra Bladet with their way past his best-before date reporter, who always asks stupid questions in a gross way, and who has a bad reputation in Denmark. But EB keep using him because they think it's edgy. But he's actually just ruining the fun. Another reason could be that it's usually foreigners making up the numbers for the girls. They don't really know what they sign up for, as they may not have heard of it, and maybe don't think about how it gets all over the news. And they probably don't care that much either, as the folks back home probably won't find out or see it anyway. There's just one problem here. Roskilde has switched to a more Danish-rooted music program post-COVID. The international names have become more expensive and less interested in festivals, as they can make more money during their own tours. Danish music in Denmark is also more popular than ever before and makes up 99% of the charts. This also means that the amount of international guests at Roskilde Festival is as low as ever. Norwegians have also historically been good represented at the run, but since Norwegian news outlets picked up on it some years ago, that also dropped a lot. They don't really cover it anymore, but most Norwegian guests know about it now and know how exposed the event are. |
