Official trip/place review thread.
1 Attachment(s)
Hey guys.
This is Deacon Karl, formerly Karl Jetz, FKKFan, FKKFanGuy, FKKFanMan and who knows what else over the last 10-15 years. I used to post a lot more content, but I've mellowed with age...in spite of the Cialis. Anyway, I've always wondered why we didn't have an ongoing review thread for trips/places we've been to and enjoyed. My wife and I are nudists, but we're also "soft" lifestylers; we've been to most of the big nudist clubs/resorts in the U.S. and to some of the more "interesting" places in Mexico. This summer/fall we have three trips planned (Desert Sun Resort for Memorial Day Weekend, Mira Vista for Labor Day and Desire Pearl for September) to places we've already been to, so I feel like I could give some good travel info to any of those here who might seek it. Likewise, there are places we're thinking of going to (mainly nudist and lifestyle clubs in the greater-Tampa area) that I'd love to get feedback on from members here who are familiar with them. As I've had conversations via messaging from some here with a similar interest, I thought I might start a new thread. Note: I know there was a trip reports thread in the past, but it seems long gone now. Are any of you interested in starting something like this? It doesn't have to be a trip report per se; rather, it could simply be a Q&A about a place you've never been. For instance, we like to visit nude beaches and I'm always looking for real reviews (not TripAdvisor or similar) and often have mundane questions about parking, lodging, facilities, etc. I figure enough of us here enjoy such similar hobbies that we could exchange information without the hang-ups of using mainstream review sites. So is anybody interested in growing a thread like this? Karl |
This is a great idea

It could work.
The resort FAQ will probably give all the information needed as far as layout, facilities, etc... What I'm personally more interested in (and I assume others too) and is not going to be in the FAQ, or often brought up in "mainstream" nudist trip reports - is the "level of nudity." With "1" being: "the only naked people are the ones in the pool", and "10" being: "everyone is naked - even the staff." My wife doesn't like to spend that much time in the pool area; so she would be disappointed and too self-conscious to stay naked if everyone outside the pool area was covered up. And to me; well it's just more "nudist" to me when everyone is just naked. And on the other end of the spectrum, I'm sure guys would like to know beforehand if their shy/reluctant wife can keep something on, and how much she will "stand out" if she does. In theory one can wear whatever at a C/O venues; but there are C/O venues where everyone is actually naked. It doesn't make sense to take your wife somewhere where she's going to end up hiding the entire time. And I've seen that happen. Anyway...just a thought. |
All genuine nudist/naturist resorts/clubs and those affiliated to the INF-FNI (International Naturist Federation) or AANR (American Association for Nude Recreation) will have a strict fully-nude in the pool rule and be family friendly, with no swinging, no cameras/visible phones in the pool area. The fully-nude in the pool rule might sometimes be relaxed for children and to allow bikini bottoms for menstruating women.
Based on heresay only, places with swinging are more likely to be clothing-optional. Although not all clothing-optional places are swinging. As others have commented, and I have observed, women especially, will usually follow the lead of other women ie if everyone (M&F) is fully nude then a new woman will probably be fully nude - eventually. Even if only the majority of women are fully nude, then a new woman is more likely not to get fully nude. And so on for topless, with a bias to not being more exposed than other women. |

Ask me anything. |
We're planning on going to Caliente in late June or early July. We live near it.

We are nudists but not lifestylers, so the only Tampa area resort we can answer questions about is Lake Como. We also tend to choose bigger resorts with more amenities: Cypress Cove near Orlando, FL and Laguna del Sol near Sacramento, CA. We’ve been on a bunch of nude cruises, so we can answer questions about those, too (just not the lifestyle ones by Bliss cruises).
We’ve been to a few nude beaches as well. Haulover in Miami, Blacks in San Diego, and Orient on Saint Martin. We went to Elia Beach in Mykonos, Greece, but it was a shore excursion on a cruise, so no idea on parking… but we know exactly where the nude section is! |

Croatia
One can't start a thread like this without mentioning Croatia.
A country with over 1,000 islands, every beach is topless at a minimum. There are over 100 official nude beaches as well. The scenery is as good as they come. Just search for "FKK beach" wherever you are in the country and you are never more than a few minutes away from one as long as you're on the coast. The best part is, everyone is chill. I have given my wife a full body massage on the beach, and have done "photoshoots" of her (tame stuff, just her in various poses). No one bats an eye. Elsewhere, as soon as a camera comes into view, someone will get offended and tell you to put it away. If you're thinking about going and have questions, I'm happy to share my thoughts. |

Po‘Olenalena Beach
The beach on Maui is called Po‘Olenalena Beach. Some of the locals call it "Secret Beach," but there are a lot of those in the world...You can park for free at Po‘Olenalena Beach Park, then take the easy walk to the right for about 5-10 minutes. Highly recommended, although like many nude beaches, it can get smaller at high tide.
Also, forgot to mention we've also been to nude beaches in Mass., Rhode Island, and Vermont. DM or email (in my contact) if you'd like info on any specific beach/resort or recommendations. |

Passage Key
Any info/tips on Passage Key? It's an island at the south end of Tampa Bay with a nudist sand bar, I have been told.
