What is Cap D'Agde like?
 

My wife and I aren't swingers or anything remotely close to it, but we do go to nude beaches and would be interested in going to Cap D'Agde to essentially walk around and hang out at the beach and gawk. What would that experience be like for us? Is everyone/most people there over 50? Is the swinger aspect aggressive? No judgement to anyone's lifestyle, I am just curious if we would be comfortable there and simultaneously if we would be considered invasive.

I haven't been there, but have naturist friends who have. I understand that some parts are swinger areas (at least at night) and other parts are great for family naturism.

Swingers tend to be partially/erotically clothed (lingerie/playwear/micro-bikinis). Naturists tend to be fully nude or might just wear a sarong at times. Maybe some people are naturist by day and swingers by night.

Would you be comfortable? invasive?
It depends on why you are there and how you behave.
If you are genuinely naturist/nudist (or trying it), then being naked in a naturist area with other naturists will make you feel comfortable and not considered invasive.

If you are obviously gawking in such a place (even if you are nude) then you will not be welcome. If you are not nude and just sightseeing in a nude area, then you will be seen as invasive. Genuine naturists are not flashers or exhibitionists wanting clothed spectators/voyeurs - that's why they gather with other naturists in naturist clubs/beaches and don't walk naked down ordinary clothed streets.

Some swingers might want to be admired - but probably mainly by other swingers.

What is it like? Fantastic. I was there with my wife about 20 years ago. The beach is nice. We rented lounge chairs, and had a waiter serve us drinks. We shopped nude and ate a lunch nude in a beachfront restaurant. What surprised me was most everyone was nude during the day, but everyone dressed for dinner. When I say dressed, I should say almost dressed. Sexy, sl*tly was the fashion. I suspect many were swingers, but no one was pushy. We are not swingers, but it was a thrilling experience.

We went there earlier this year and had a couple of hours on the beach. We approached from the east along the beach from Marseillan Plage. The first part of the beach you encounter from this direction is a "standard" nudist beach with most people I surmise coming along from the textile resort and just enjoying the sun in the nude.

You then encounter the more "libertine" area where couples are openly indulging in sexual activity. I was only there briefly but saw several couples fingering/wanking each other and some oral. People were openly watching the couples and nobody seemed to mind. I didn't see any full on sex but that was just a matter of my poor timing I'm sure.

I understand that it gets wilder later in the day.

Further along again towards the naturist complex the beach was again "standard" naturist with couples and families.

So, yes, I can confirm that you can go there and watch sexual activities with no objections from any of the consenting adults on that area of the beach. I only wish I'd had longer to enjoy it!

My wife and I used to experiment with holidaying at various naturist camp sites in the early eighties and because of its fame we started at Le Camp d'Agde.
We, like the previous writer made our a initial approach from the east walking along the beach. Most of the girls were wearing bikinis at the point where we joined the beach but soon the tops had gone and I persuaded my wife to shed hers .As we got nearer to the village the bottoms also had hone and we, not wishing to stand out, removed our bottoms, after some debate.
we spent a very nice day in the village using a swimming pool (very nearly all to ourselves), we did a bit of shopping and had a nice meal, all of this quite naked.
it was not until we set off back along the beach that we encountered some rather more lustful behaviour, the first indication of what was to come was a couple laying on the beach and giving one another oral sex. they t6ook no notice of us, even if they saw us and I think that they were so far into their enjoyment of each other that it would have been a surprise if it had made any difference.
As we passed them my wife spotted some lights in the dunes and we went to investigate, finding some teenagers laying out some towels and the boys all had very pronounced erections and the girls were encouraging them by pushing their hind quarters against their penises whenever they had a chance, they were very organised and soon got down to some major sexual activity. WE left at this time and having been a bit aroused by what we had witnessed we sopped a little farther along the beach and had a bit of a cuddle ourselves.
we did return to Le Cap d'Agde on other occasions but tended to migrate to the west coast, where one could ind alot more space and beaches. in June, during the week that were unoccupied and where one could easily find somewhere to make love with sun on ones back.

Thank you for this. We're not lifestyle naturists but we're totally comfortable going nude and have done it many times in the past. Was the crowd a big spectrum of ages? We're in our late 30's/early 40's and don't want to be younger or older than everyone.

I would say that most people there were 30+.

You wouldn't be our of place at our age.

During the afternoon, walking along the beach shore, we saw that having no pubic hair is the general trend for women and men this summer season in Cap d'Agde.

At our arrival, we had both nearly natural pubic hair, Joelle had just shaved the classic bikini line. On the second day, Joelle decided to take an appointment at the beauty salon 'Ladybel Nicole' inside the resort which offers pubic waxing for women and men. We both entered the salon after the beach later in the afternoon.The esthetician Nicole was friendly and told us that the treatment of Joelle's waxing could be done now as she has no client appointment at this time. Firstly she informed us about the advantages of waxing compared to shaving, smoother skin, no ingrown hairs and regrowth starting after +- 15 days, as Joelle was hesitant for being waxed completely Nicole explained us that she can understand that she is hesitant about having a hairless pubic zone but personally she thinks keeping pubic hair is like keeping some coverage of the pubic area, in her opinion a woman with smooth genitals is confident to her nudity and over the last seasons it is 'trendy' at Cap d'Agde to be hairless. Joelle told her that it she will try it then. She then asked Joelle to take a shower, coming out of the shower she installed herself on a sort of massage table, meanwhile Nicole warmed up the wax and took a small electric clipper to trim her pubic hair to nearly stubble, this took only a couple of minutes, the actual waxing lasted about 20 minutes, to finish she put some lotion on to calm the skin. Joelle had to be used at first being smooth now and put on a bikini bottom to walk back to our hotel. The next day around the swimming pool she was happy to have it done as +-80% of the female clients of the hotel were smooth.

How is it now on Cap de Agde?
 

Does anyone know what the trend is now on the beach at Cap de Agde?
And what happens on the beach.

What do you mean by "respected"? That if somebody is naked here, it is not acceptable for other people? Or that most people do not practice nudity, but if somebody does, it is tolerated?

I spent a couple of hours at Cap D’Agde around 1980 with my then girlfriend.

My main recollection of it was that the nude beach was very busy. We weren’t impressed. As far as I can remember, we had a swim and drove on to one of our usual holiday campsites near St Tropez. Plenty of nicer less crowded beaches where we could get naked in that area.

"Respecting nudity" is a term that means being naked in a naturist environment.

Naturists will say that nudity is not respected if someone wears some sort of clothing on a nudist beach or resort.

Some campsites or resorts are flexible but say nudity must be respected around the pool and spa area.

Nudity not being respected is sometimes associated with "gawkers" or people who want to be in the environment but not participate.

Here is my report

I have just spent a couple of days at Europe's largest naturist communities, the naturist village at Cap D'Agde in France.

It is an enormous complex with thousands of apartments, hotels and a camp site. There are shops, bars and restaurants along with night clubs. It is located on the Mediterranean sea with a beautiful sandy beach.

There are two characters to the village. The first is standard naturist with all community activities like shopping, going to bars and restaurants, walking around and general leisure done in the nude. You soon get used to seeing naked bodies of all ages, sizes and colours engaging in these mundane activities.

The second side is what the French refer to as "Libertine" activities. Essentially this is all about sex, swinging and exhibitionism.

During the day the Libertine side of things can mainly be found by walking past the normal nude beach to the area known as the Baie des Cochons or Bay of Pigs. Here pretty much anything goes. You will have heard the rumours and seen the videos and everything is true!

Most of the time couples are just lying out sunbathing but when the mood takes them they will engage in all sorts of sexual activity: fingering, jerking, sucking, licking and full on fucking in every imaginable position.

All this is either ignored with a degree of nonchalance by the fellow beach users or actively observed by a good cohort of, mostly middle aged, single males. As my wife was unable to visit with me I was definitely in the latter group.

From time to time there would be displays by younger, fitter couples which attracted large crowds and occasionally a young lady would engage in blow-job sessions for all who could get close.

I avoided these scenes as they aren't really my thing. What I enjoyed was seeing the ordinary, middle-aged and senior couples take advantage of the scene. These were the sort of couples you would normally take no notice of, care-worn, wrinkly, all shapes and sizes who had perhaps been married for 20-30 years but had not let the fire go out!

I saw many, many things which will stay in my memory for a very long time. I have written on this site about witnessing activities in the dunes at my local nudist beach in England but this was in a different universe!

In the evening nearly everybody is clothed but around a quarter of the women are wearing very erotic dresses. See through, short, minimal with all sorts of lingerie on show. I was sat in a restaurant and the lady a couple of tables away had a very short skirt with no knickers underneath and I spent the whole meal looking at her pussy.

Again ladies of all ages, shapes and sizes took part. There was an older couple sat next to me in an outside bar, she was on a mobility scooter and was a very large lady. her top was red mesh exposing her "spaniel ear" boobs and wrinkly belly. Fair play to her, I thought.

There were night clubs and saunas that catered just for swinger couples, excluding single male visitors or charging five-times the couples price for restricted access.

In summary, everything you have ever heard about the place is true. I can't wait to go back. Feel free to ask any questions.
