Unplanned Nudity
 

Unplanned nudity is nudity at an event in which the subject is willingly nude but did not attend with the expectation of getting nude. It’s not accidental or voyeur — they chose to be nude and seen. They just didn’t plan to.

Examples include: unstaged dares and party games, spontaneous skinny dipping, some theater and performance art events with audience volunteers, bystanders at WNBR-type events that join in, and similar.

My favorites include the women who join in with the nudists at the Fête de l'Humanité (kinda had to guess which ones):

This thread is off to a great start. I love the two group pics you included with the women standing with their backs to the camera.

I've seen it quite a bit at nudist get-togethers. Someone's wife or friend attends (out of curiosity or some sense of obligation) with no intention of getting naked themselves; but then get talked into it somehow. Their initial reaction is usually one of stupefaction: "OMG; I'm naked in front of everyone!! How did that happen?!?" along with an adrenaline rush. That wears off progressively; especially when everyone around is also naked anyway.

But that initial reaction is usually funny. They've underestimated the "power" of contagious nudity.

This is a great idea for a thread. He’s some various pics of random skinny dipping, dares, or women who decided to get naked for whatever reason.

This one is kinda iffy — the four leftmost girls were on a well-documented cruise and at one stop popped into a nude beach. It’s not clear if they left the boat that day planning on going there or decided in the moment, but it’s a good enough pic I’m gonna go with the more fun interpretation.

Two more handy ones. One naked event bystander stripping off, and one who came clothed dropping shorts.

If they’re stripping in the water, it’s probably spontaneous.

Those are indeed the only ones I am aware of. There are Flickr albums of all three years as well but they show none of these random people and really not a ton of the female booth nudists either. I don’t have the links.

I love this topic. The women who went to the beach planning on wearing their swimsuit but then got caught up in the moment. Or planned to attend a naked run as a spectator and got cajoled into taking part. The performance artist Frank Moore was great at getting audience members naked. I'm sure he used some plants, but I also believe that many just got socially pressured to participate.

I planned on capping all the Frank Moore girls but those videos are so long and tedious for a few minutes of nudity and I don’t (yet?) have the patience to do it.

Just realized a most unlikely photo belongs here. Designer Jessica Walsh wasn’t actually supposed to be nude for this shot (she was holding a potted plant to cover up), but apparently she was inspired in the moment to bare all and the result was legendary.
