considering it was originally a pagan festival, and most "goths" don't believe in god, some still being pagan etc, plus its the only time of the year when we can go out with out having abuse sent our way

Being Goth is no more or less than a fashion statement / style.

If you're referring to the Visigoths / Ostrogoths and Vandals of the early 4th century who opposed the Roman Empire and originated in Scandinavia / Germanic countries...well.they were certainly pagan...... but I hardly think modern day goths style themselves after them......IMHO.

Modern Goths are a distinct subculture, and a great many are practicing pagans. The trick is in the age group. Many kids adopt the Goth look to rebel, and will delve into alternative religions to find a sense of themselves. Most turn into insurance salesmen and housewives, but many stay with the lifestyle and the belief systems.
And Halloween is to a Goth what Christmas is to a Baptist...;)
There are thriving communities in places as diverse as San Fransisco, Baltimore and Vancouver Island. The Druids walk among us, like the little people of ....Stonehenge.
And Spinal Tap are a real band. ;)
