What will yo do with nude/sex pics and videos after death?

Leave them on locked computer?
Leave them on UNlocked computer to surprise your next-of-kin?
Bequeath them to the discrete pervert nephew?

Destroy them

I'm 85 years old and I've destroyed all that I think will reflect poorly on me when I'm gone. One exception is the nude Polaroids I took of my wife, then girlfriend, in the 1960s. I CAN'T FIND THEM.

piecenick 06-18-2020 08:25 AM

If I'm dead, I won't be doing anything. The digital stuff is under a password that only I know, some boudoir pics of my wife and some toys are in a suitcase in the closet, we don't really care about that stuff.

brunettesrule 06-18-2020 08:28 AM

Put a "dead-man's switch" on my computer at the nursing home. When both of us are gone, it will release all of them unblurred into the wild. The world deserves to know how hot we were.

looksalot 06-18-2020 09:32 AM

Hope at the time I die I'm in action on top with the camera running.

What a legacy for my sons to challenge.

In reality I suspect things like old personal files, pictures and written memories become pretty far down on the significance list of one's effects once they're gone. Probably most of your immediate family already knows of strongly suspects what you have, anyway.

Maybe some will remember a little as far back as 3 generations, their great grandfather or grandmother, but memories fade pretty fast.

Just look at vintage porn, that will be us in forty years

cufan86 06-18-2020 11:04 AM

If I pre-decease my wife, I suspect she will destroy everything. If I go last, everything is more likely to survive, although if I have a lengthy terminal condition I would probably destroy everything

brunettesrule 06-18-2020 11:57 AM

It does bring up a pretty interesting issue from the other side. When my parents both died, I had to clean up their house and get stuff in order. Needless to say, I went through everything to make sure I wasn't throwing away something important to the estate.

If I had stumbled on nude or sex pics, I would not have been horrified - probably the opposite. Even though my parents were no longer hard bodies after their thirties, I would have been happy for them because I know what my experience being free spirited with photographic equipment has been like - basically, awesome. If I had found photos, I would have destroyed them out of caution for not knowing what their wishes were.

MrBrummell 06-18-2020 12:37 PM

I have an agreement with a friend that if either of us goes unexpectedly we'll go collect all the stuff no one needs to get access to.

pics and videos after death

All mine, with a few exceptions, are on a cloud account under a secret username and password. Even my wife cannot access them. I guess they would remain there forever, unless that cloud went defunct.
With some physical things and toys, they are in a box marked 'Destroy upon Death'. My daughter knows the type of things in it, to not snoop in it and just get rid of it. We are pretty open about sexual things. (She has one too!!! Lol)

All of mine are on my laptop, with a copy being saved on a local backup drive. I'm always hesitant to store a lot of my photos on the cloud, though it's probably a better idea in the long run. What service are you using? Is it doing auto backups? Sorry to inject some tech questions in here!

Myself and my mrs have jokingly talked about this. Our opinions basically the same as above except that she has asked for all the passwords etc as she says she would definitely want access to them all, if I'm gone before her.

In other words, if I'm gone first she will keep them and look at them but is definite that she will destroy them before she goes. If she goes first, I've told her I'll her I'll put on an exhibition if I can find a willing gallery. :-)

I use pCloud. Safe, secure and relatively cheap. 2TB @ $8 a month. 500gb at $4.

thefergieferg1 06-19-2020 12:35 AM

Apart from a few older tame holiday photosthat are in print all the stuff we wouldn't want anyone to see is encrypted.
I use VeraCrypt, it's free and works fine.
When Mrs Ferg has asked how safe her pics are I just tell her in the event of my demise just unplug the computer.

HedoRocks 06-19-2020 08:38 AM

I just checked, and I have 26 gigs worth of data in my "adult" folder. 20 years worth, organized by year and month. The vast majority of it is my wife, with some extra curricular stuff sprinkled in here and there. I have a ton of topless/nude pics of some friends of ours, as the girls are always ready to show off whenever we have a get together. I'm sure all the guys have similar photos of my wife.

Crazy to think I have that much!

While there are a few things in there my wife would not be thrilled at (her sister in a skimpy bikini, etc) for the most part she's aware of all of it, and would take care of it for me. In the event we both go, our daughters, while kind of disgusted by it (LOL) are aware that we are very active and like to have fun, and also know photos and files exist. They would just delete everything.

VXCguy 06-19-2020 10:52 AM

I have a couple of external hard drives that are encrypted with everything on them.

Now I have recently found out that Google Photos service is cheap but they have a "death delete option" If you don't access them in a predetermined time frame sent by you it sends you an email then you have another few weeks to recover or it deletes EVERYTHING and closes the account. Kinda cool!

So I'm messing with that a little till I get more comfortable with it.

chuckfinly 06-19-2020 12:15 PM

I do not have any pictures of my wife and I. I do have pictures of an ex on a flash drive that I have not opened since I have been with my wife yet I have not been able to bring myself to destroy it for some reason. It is hidden in a place that no one will ever find it if I die (having hundreds of acres allows for some good hiding places). I have other items (non sexual for the record) that my family would have no idea what to do with yet I do not want them to essentially cease to exist if I meet an untimely demise. I have them hidden very well. I have a couple of friends that know those hiding places and if something happens to me, they will either get them and make sure they stay in circulation or hold them for my boys when they get old enough.

Beelzebozo 06-20-2020 01:25 AM

I've got our photo collection on a separate hard drive so I can add to it easily, plus some back-ups, though they are not meticulously synced. Currently sits at almost 25gig over a 20 year relationship.

I'm not sure what my wife would do if I passed first, but given her general feelings about her body, she'll probably destroy them. I would personally release them into the wild. Anything else I've done with my life will probably fade away fairly quickly, but I'm sure a few nude/sex shots will survive as long as anyone collects vintage amateur porn.

About me":

Hot pics of my wife taken are already edited. Face hidden with smileys and a user text logo placed on every photo.
All the edited photos are in password locked archive kept in personal HDD. The original photos are also encrypted and locked inside strong password protected archive. So after my death the one who gets HDD can only delete the files in HDD and can use it for his/her personal use only.

Also my wife knows about the archived files and hope that she will delete those once I am gone if we both don't die together.

willporkem 06-20-2020 10:18 AM

All of mine are in an encrypted file that is password protected. Also backed up to a cloud drive that is hosted by company known to be secure and reliable.
At one time I did have them backed up to a lesser known cloud service, thinking that was safer than having my wife's pics on a well known corporate site. Unfortunately that company went belly-up with no warning. Shortly afterwards, I did find a few of my wife's pics on less-than-scrupulous foreign sites.
I had, on very rare occasions, shared some of her unblurred pics w/ chat buddies, so I can't be sure if they came from betrayed trust or the defunct service.

I never trust any cloud service as it may get hacked by brilliant techies. So I feel safe to encypt the pics and archive it with strong password protection. And store the encrypted and password locked archive file in my portable HDD.

I know that none of my relatives or friends are experts in hacking. So the one who get my portable HDD can only simply delete the files and use it for their personal purpose,:)

likemslick 06-21-2020 02:38 AM

I made a vow that if I left the hospital alive I would destroy all videos, pics, etc. so she wouldn't have to worry about them. I obviously did, so I did (destroy the material).

willporkem 06-21-2020 11:53 AM

I have over 30 years of pictures of my wife. A few times I thought it would be best to erase them, but I couldn't bring myself to do it. I named the encrypted file I store them in to resemble windows system file, so even if some young techie niece/nephew or grand child.were to inherit my pc and peripherals, the file would most likely be overlooked. So when I die, so do the pics, (except for the ones that leaked)

You might want to be aware that there are memory sticks out there that all you have to do is plug them in and they automatically scan your computer for ANY pic or video, no matter what folder they are hidden in. Just sayin'.

willporkem 06-21-2020 03:14 PM

They are not hidden, they are encrypted. They cannot be recognized as pictures until decrypted with the password,. But think this thread is devolving more into a discussion thread than a story thread.

I think people come here more for stories about who has their pics or who might see them or might have them once they no longer control them as opposed to a technical discussion on encryption vs. hidden and the various option for each.

Maybe I'm wrong, just my thoughts.

Me personally while I wouldn't post my wife's unblurred pictures,. I do think it's kind of hot that a few are out there.

BTW. Happy Father's Day!

willporkem 06-21-2020 03:26 PM

On a slightly different note (please read the whole note before you decide were being morbid or death obsessed), but we have lost a few close friends and relatives over the last year.

I guess as part of the coping mechanism we kid each other about what each would do if the other went first... Hold on not as morbid as at sounds. I tell her she'll use the insurance money to hire a live-in pool boy and she tells me I'll use it to get me some young chippy.

Ok wait for it. Here's where the picture theme comes back in. I told her that if she dares go before me, instead of the traditional family pictures most people display at a funeral, I'm putting up ALL of the pics I have of her from Fantasy Fest, and burying her in my favorite Fantasy Fest outfit :-)

They will be on my drives and in the boxes I keep them in clearly labeled. Anyone wants to go through them? Feel free
