Big North East Skinnydip 2019
 

Just a H U to look for stuff for this event, it takes place at dawn on Sunday 22nd.

This year quite a well known radio/TV presenter on the BBC is taking part, she is also a vicar, so without naming her, many from the UK would know who she is. She normally present a nationwide radio show at that time on a Sunday, so I wonder if they are doing an OB to highlight the charity nature of the event.

If I lived nearer, I'd donate £15 to go skinnydipping with this lady and her mates from the BBC. Hopefully someone will get a photo!

She has done a (nothing shown) nude interview too, she is the one in the middle.

This dip is one of the best of the year. Hoping for some HQ vids & pics, with some nice MILF bush.

My friend went. We chatted about it 5 mins ago. He said they had 'Marshalls' telling people photography was only allowed by the sanctioned photographers. Then were keeping non-participants away behind a 'barrier'. He said very different to last year with fewer people but better M:F ratio. He has taken a couple of pics but done on an older iPhone from distance.

I had a feeling that this year there would be restrictions for Photographers. Last year there were some great pictures, nude ride on Flickr is a good example. There seem to be very few pictures and videos around from this years event. Unfortunately I think it has become too mainstream now and to stop people being put off from participating, they have restricted who can go along and spectate.

You may end up being right (sure hope not!), but last year Nude Ride started posting on September 27 and in 2017 he started posting on September 25th. We have this back and forth on the WNBR threads every year, and one of the great Philly photographers has suggested there are still more photos coming from the last major WNBR of the year, a month ago. These things take time.

I hope I'm wrong to. A couple of other reason's why I don't think we will get photos this year is that nuderide hasn't added any 2019 wnbr pics, his last pics were of the 2018 dip. The other reason is previous years there were a number of clothed people on the beach with cameras, this year I only spotted two in the pics I've seen which I assume are the official photographer's. I guess time will tell.

Could you direct us to these pictures you've seen?

Just google north east skinny dip 2019, social media and youtube are the only sources so far.

Great video of the event, just a shame he went waist deep in the water for most of the time, would have been better in the shallow part of the waves!

This is the South West Skinnydip...similar problem for much of the time, but great for hidden nudity fans!

I'm not a legal expert, but I think I'm right in saying in the UK there is no such thing as a private beach and closing a beach for a purpose must be very hard. Any person there is in a public place.
Great pics, will be thaking all. I'd love to have spotted the Rev in open water, who was very unfairly body-shamed by trolls. Ridiculous!

In the UK, the foreshore (the land between mean high and mean low water mark) plus the seabed up to 12 nautical miles is owned by the Crown Estate, the Duchy of Cornwall or the Duchy of Lancashire. In general, the public would seem to have a right to walk on the strip between high and low water.

But the beach above the high water mark is owned by various bodies (eg local authority, National Trust, Ministry of Defence) and private individuals who could permanently or temporarily restrict access to the beach, even if there was an established public right of way eg across fields to the beach. eg parts of the very wide Holkham beach in Norfolk are privately owned.

So although you could legally walk along the foreshore to a particular beach, cliffs and rocks might make this near-impossible.

I don't know who owns the beach above high water where the NESD occurs, I suppose they might temporarily restrict access during the NESD.

Fund-raiser for MIND - The Mental Health Charity
 

The NESD is a fund-raiser for Mind - The Mental Health Charity, with most of the money raised coming from the participant's ticket fees. More participants - more funds, fewer participants - less funds. Taking part probably helps some people with their mental health issues.

From the organizers' FAQs:
