I thought it would be interesting to do a poll on people’s preference on pubic grooming.

1. Full Bush

I am 53 and my wife is 45.

My preference would be number 3. Trimmed and shaved labia. Mainly because I think it gives you the best of both worlds.

My wife prefers the full Bush, with some light trimming in summer.

She shaved once, but didn’t like the look or feel, so reverted back to the bush.

Luckily she’s not very hairy around her labia or asshole. I quite enjoy it the way it is.

I have been pondering my preference for bush. Growing up in the late Seventies, your only choice in porn was the full bush, heck even the men were hairy. Think Harry Reems, moustache and hairy chest.

Same goes for real girls. All my Girlfriends had bush.

Then into the Eighties, pubic trimming was appearing. By the mid Nineties, a Landing Strip was all you would see in porn. By the mid Naughties, the Shaved look was all the rage.

I must admit that I manscape at times. As they say, if you trim the bushes, the tree looks bigger.

Trends are cyclical. Back in the 70s, most women had bush, in the 80s it was a mix, then it was all bare all the time, and now bush is making a comeback.

I'd like to pose a question, while the pubic hair trend seem to go and come between the 1970's and then go and come back now in present day, Can we assume this was in western countries ,i.e the U.S etc.
Was shaving a common trend in Europe to. From the pictures i've seen etc, asian women are always usually hairy, I think this is safe to say, is this a culture thing ?Are their any other cultures who generally don't shave? or. are their countries where women always shave? I don't know if this is the right place to pose the question , but it seems relevant .

Both women AND men are encouraged to keep themselves clean and trim whatever that you need to trim... armpit hair and pubic hair for both men and women.

This is not required per the Quran, but the Hadith (if I'm not mistaken). There are a lot of Hadith out there that stresses the importance of cleanliness.

There is nothing mentioned in the Qur'an that doesn't permit the practice, and since it is essential for Muslims to be hygienic (as this is part of the Sunnah), I'm assuming it would be encouraged that Muslim women shave their arm pits and pubic hair.

I am definitely pro-bush due to entering my teenage years in mid-late 80s. All porno mags had models with natural bushes and this was completely normal. Sure, sometimes you would be stunned by a woman who had a massive black bush up and down their ass crack and a trail up their stomach but usually it was just a standard full muff. My first love was Playmate Marianne Gravatte. I also understand that Japanese women believe pubic hair removal is only for prostitutes and generally proud of their natural bush. They are not beholden to Western beauty rituals, from looks of it. Quite amazing bodies those Japanese ladies, mostly thin with no fat, tight asses (though often flat), small to medium tits. Really nicely proportioned. Only hair on their body is usually hairy, jet black muff with no curls whatsoever.

Time to call the poll.

Shaved wins it with over 32 %. Adding in trimmed and landing Strip brings the total to over 70%. Full Bush 29%.

Below is the results from a recent Cosmo survey of over 4500 people aged 18-35 yo.

A whopping 57% of girls admitted to shaving bare and 46% of guys preferred that way. Only 6% girls admitted to having a full bush and 6% guys preferring the bush.

I think the higher number here for bush preference goes to the older demographic who tend to like bush.

Be interesting to see what happens over the next 10 years.

Misrepresenting the stats
 

One could say that your analysis is somewhat skewed. Given that trimmed infers hair as does trimmed but shaved labia and landing strip one could easily argue that 68% of those surveyed prefer some form of hair down there. As for the published survey given the age cut was 35 which means they were born what early mid 80s I wonder what a fair cross section of age categories would reflect such that the 35-55 and >55 years I think the representation would look somewhat different given our generation was predisposed to the bush. Lastly, surveyed is skewed by only those who participated may not represent the general populous and also depends on sample size.

Personally I prefer totally shaved , there were only two exceptions to this
