more naked on bike events

Some pics I found. Hope no repost. Maybe someday when the oil runs out, we'll all be doing this? I hope so...
I was happy to find the daylight college event (first three pics). Most are done by night. Both these took place in May, so neither were WNBR. Klondike |

More info on the daylight event (and three more pics) - this is an annual "May Day" event at some college. I especially like the ratio of women to men. I'll give a prize to the first person that can tell me what college this takes place at.
...and also a prize for more pics :) Klondike |

Okay, I've been holding out on you guys.
Here's one from my collection. I'll come back with more. Turns out I need to decrease the file sizes. |

Great thread, Klondike. Here are some pictures from this year's Freemont Solstice parade, in Seattle, WA. Some people shown in the zip file are not on bicycles, I hope that is ok!

not on bikes?

Not on bikes? would I mind? (see first two pics below).
Great set, thanks! Judging from the pics I've seen so far, this might be the best solstice parade yet. Klondike |

NICE! I love the ones in broad daylight! That takes balls (hopefully not literally!)

Well I don't know if you would call this an event, although it would certainly be one for me if I saw her pedaling down MY street.

 Well well, pick up the local paper and on the front page there's a pic of a naked man on a bike.
It says a few housewifes are protesting about "World Naked Bike Day" which is happening not more than 15mins drive away on March 10 . But realistically it's virtually one huge advertisement/promotion for the event. a few notes mentioned 1 The Council is powerless to stop the raw riders and not even the long arm of the law can stop them 2 Women can ride nude provided they remain seated. 3 Men must ensure they are not in full view, (riders overseas have worn a sock to comply with the law) If i can build up the courage i might take my crappy digital and go for a looksy. Anyway as mentioned elsewhere in this forum it's happening in cities all over the world, and it just might be happening at a place close to you. |

Sal32, If you do, here are some tips (if you want to be assured of getting good pics) 1) Get to know the route. Travel it in advance and make note of all the places where the riders might stop. (including pit stops). Decide where it would be best to photograph from. Consider everything: parking, sun angle, crowds, how fast the bikers are going, traffic. Any logistical problems you might encounter getting around. 2) shoot in continuous mode if you have it. Shoot large pics you can crop later. Don't get stranded on the wrong side of the street w/respects to sun angle. 3) Photograph either the pre-ride or post-ride area, or both if possible. Pre-ride and post-ride pics are always the best. Catch the bodypainting session. Sometimes, there will be rest breaks (potty and otherwise) on route you can hit too. 4) Try to photograph the bikers from the front or 3/4 front. Side views are not as good. 5) good luck! Klondike |
Yeah thx Klondike
Did some more searching around and it doesn't appear to be all i hoped it would be.... :( The organiser had a talk with the local cops and they said that women have to wear at least panties; They are going to ride on a bikeway and not on the road (bikeway is squeezed in between the river on one side and trees and bushes on the other); One website says there will be just 20 riders, another said just 15...if that's the case i'm guessing there will be very few girls; And the big bummer is that it's on at 4pm which is not good for me....i was thinking/hoping it would mid to late morning |

that must be why the Sydney Body Art riders only go topless too? The turnout for these rides really varies a lot. Maybe next year! Klondike |
