I'd mentioned to Klondike in his tribute thread that I'd get after compiling all the pics I have of the early solstice years. I believe the earliest year that has its own thread is 2005. Once I get there, I'll add my picks to that thread:

Feel free to add pics. My only request is that you provide the year, or at least your best guess. I suppose some of these might be posted elsewhere but at worst it will consolidate. These come from years of sorting so hopefully there will be a bunch of new ones for people.

Being accurate on years is a little dodgy since I don't actually believe that people label them accurately, as they're old. Please chime in if I get the years wrong!

With the far-from-trivial caveat that pre-2006, in the days before Daviddavin/Klondike (and are there any others so antediluvian as to discern Riverslug from the shifting mists of time?), that is to say the ineffable coupling of modern equipment and that unsurpassed eye, exemplars were often woefully tiny by our current standards, here's my little conceit: pre-ride pictures conjoined with how they looked in medias res (first two from '04, though this was not their only ride, third from '03)...

This is a good thread idea because as you mentioned, yearly threads didn't start until 2005 (I might have thought 2006. I need to have a look at the 2005 thread).

Anyway, so it was in the tribute thread that I started dumping many of my pre 2005 pics. Mine are only sorted according to whether they are pics of riders vs walkers, posers, etc. Very few are sorted by year.

I did get the idea, pennywiseguy, that you are a pretty dedicated collector of these pics. So having this thread hopefully will draw out more guys like you, kind of like how the retro NAP thread drew out a lot of stuff from collectors
Who might have remained obscure otherwise.

But we did get some participation already in the tribute thread as I recall. When I get back to portland ( I still have wreck beach in my sights this weekend), I'll try to contribute some.

Spanky, I had a look at that 2005 thread. It's not a general thread for that year, but just a handful of pics of one particular girl, a walker. And then I went and messed it up by posting some 2006 pics by mistake. So there is really no 2005 thread for riders.
