Poll: Boudoir photos (how daring?)
 

So, following finding out that one of her friends has had some boudoir photos taken, my lady has decided she wants to get some too! :)

As she's already quite comfortable (thanks be!) being naked in front of a camera, she's told me that she fully intends getting completely starkers for the photographer. She does have a preference for a female photographer but she reckons it's important that whatever gender they are, they have to be ok with nudity. She's already discounted two relatively local photographers because their website portfolios "didn't have enough nakedness"!

While I'm delighted at her attitude, I'm just curious as to how she compares to other ladies out there (hence the poll). While it's perhaps not politically correct to say it on here, I have in my time checked out a few badly secured/open boudoir galleries. I'm always surprised how few of the women involved get naked. If I was to guess, I'd say from the galleries I've seen, only 1 or 2% get naked and only about 25% even get topless. The vast majority involve reams of pictures of ladies in lingerie, or thinking that the handbra is the most risque thing ever invented.

Or perhaps photographers are just more careful protecting the galleries in which clients get naked. Who knows?

So, go on, help me out with this vital research. ;)

My wife had a boudoir session in 1992, we still have the delightful pics.The photographer was an award winning portrait photog, but he had never done a nude before, but he wanted to try. My wife was not shy,she progressed from lingerie to nudes. She kept her pubes hidden but that was all. The pictures are hidden in a locked drawer, we take them out occasionally.

Unfortunately, not yet. She has mentioned to me that she'd like to do a shoot for me for my birthday some day and even bring a good friend of her's along for the shoot but it hasn't happened yet. Certainly it is a fantasy of mine. One I'd love to have happen. I'm not sure how haked she would get but if I knew in advance, I'd help research photographers and encourage her not to waste the opportunity with lame photos. I'd want lots of tasteful nudity! I know she has no problem with posing nude for me and even knows I share some of themso I doubt she'd stop with just lingerie and/or handbras. If it ever happens, oh, the questions I'd be asking! I'd want to hear the whole story! :eek:

The photographer was a young guy about our age who lived in our apartment building. I didn't know him, just saw him around. I think the wife (ex) said she met him in the common laundry room in the building. I should have been more suspicious of the how's and why's of the subject of him taking nude photos of her even came up. Not normal laundry room conversation, ya think?

She had a nice pair of twin C's that she liked to show off, 5'3 120 lbs., very attractive in general, and I'm sure that's what prompted him to propose the photo-shoot. If I recall, she said that at first, nothing was mentioned about nudity, he just proposed a free set of proofs. She went to his apartment and he showed some of his portfolios, weddings and such, then in other albums, women in various boudoir shots, other albums, some women totally but tastefully nude. He showed her a spare bedroom that he had set up like a studio, tripods, lights, etc. She was sold, and I think at that point, sold on the nudes. But she told him she had to ask me.

I was taken totally by surprise by her request to have nude photos taken by practically a stranger. Because other than showing plenty of cleavage and running around braless, she never showed any exhibitionistic tendencies. Anyway, I eagerly agreed, said that I was ready anytime. Then she said there wouldn't be a "we", just she and him. Reasoning was that I'd be a distraction to them, etc. I was a little suspicious, but found the whole scenario so hot, I agreed.

Bottom line, photos came out great. Frankly, I only remember a handful of the very tasteful B&W nude pics. I know we saw proofs, must have been a hundred pics, and he printed out our favorites. There was some of her lying down of her belly on a shag rug, up on her elbows, her cute little ass, and lots of tit showing, smiling into the camera. Others, sort of sitting on the floor, legs folded under, tits as big as anything right out there, with some bush showing. Classic nudes, I suppose.

In retrospect, I have to wonder that since there weren't any underwear or half-dressed shots, how that all transpired....
Was it like, "OK lady, take off all your clothes and get naked for me"........ I'm joking of course, because the guy had to be very, very smooth to get her to agree to the nude photo-shoot to begin with. And, if I recall, she even told me the guy said to be sure not to wear a bra or anything tight because it would take a while for the marks on her body to fade. So yes, it was planned right from the start to do nudes only. So in a sense it was like that for her. "OK, here I am in a robe...... voile! Now I am totally naked for you!"

All these years later, I'm still blown away; wish I had a video clip of that whole scene.

One thing for sure, that was the longest couple hours of my life, waiting alone in the apartment until she came back. All kinds of thoughts raced through my head, wondering what was going on just a couple hundred feet away. But when she finally came back from his apartment, we were all over each other! Great thread! My wife did a rather tame boudoir shoot at a bachelorette party. All the girls brought sexy outfits and one by one had their photos taken in a bedroom. Since there were a lot of girls and the photographer wasn't there for long, they were quick shoots. My wife ended up with 8 images that the photographer picked that were sexy in panties and a bra. Since the shoots were quick I doubt that any of the girls got topless.

I always wanted to see some of the other girls layouts, but the photographer sent each girl a link to their gallery only with a unique password. I imagine that the groom may have gotten to see some of the other photoshoots.

My wife posed for a painter for an hour, then he took a photo to use to finish the painting. I thought it was excellent but I thought he made her pubic triangle a bit large. We have it but she will not let me hang it up.

So you remember how I started this thread as my lady was thinking of getting some boudoir pics taken. Well, big news - she went ahead and did it!

Here are a few tales from her big day.

1. Here's an excerpt from the one-sided conversation I got to hear when she called her chosen (female) photographer to make a booking. "Yes... yes... no problem with that at all." followed by "Outside? Well, I guess so... Actually, yes, let's do it!"

She had been discussing with the photographer how far she wanted to go (full nudity!) but the photographer surprised her with the suggestion that they shoot some nudes outside. It turned out her chosen venue was a relatively small manor house hotel, with lovely grounds including a walled garden. She'd done several shoots there. It was generally quiet during the week (they'd arranged a Wednesday).

2. So off my lady went with her prescribed luggage of two sets of lingerie and a track suit (which would turn out to be the only thing she'd be wearing as she walked out of the hotel with the photographer later). As the photographer had said on the phone, she had done several shoots there before and had an arrangement with the management. They got to use the honeymoon suite for an hour for internal shots at no charge.

The photos from the suite are nice, showcasing my lady in her various lingerie. There's a particularly nice group of five in which she's sitting in a very deep window, starting off wearing a blue bra and panties set, with suspender tights, before eventually discarding the bra by photo 5.

"Did that feel very daring?" I asked her "Being in the window like that? Presumably, anyone could have walked by outside."

"Yes and no. The room was on the upper floor and it overlooked the back car park, which wasn't very full."

"That said," she added, in a tone which peaked my interest, "there were two workmen down there, fixing a drain in the middle of it!"

"Nice!" I said. "Do you think they saw you?"

3. Strangely, even though she reckons they spent over an hour in the room (and the hallway outside!) no full nudes were taken. She's not sure why this was. The time came though for the outside shots. "Ok, so please take off the rest of your clothes and put on your tracksuit" the photographer told her. "Then, follow me."

So out in to the corridor, down the grand staircase and past the staff at reception. My lady had her first moment of slight embarrassment at this point. If, as seemed clear, the photographer had done a lot of work at this hotel, she concluded the ladies behind the desk knew exactly what was going on when the photographer (carrying two cameras and a folded-up tripod) marched past, followed closely by her (a woman who'd clearly had her hair and makeup done but was now walking out the door wearing a tracksuit and some flip-flops)!

4 . The photographer had no plan or method for ensuring privacy whilst in the grounds. Just a knowledge of where might be busy and where probably wouldn't be.

My lady is completely nude in every photo from this point on! There's shots of her in front of a high wooden fence, looking out of a greenhouse, posing amongst some orange flowers and perched on a patio table.

"Were you worried?" I asked.

"Not really. We'd check the place out and she'd get set up, check the lighting etc. with me fully dressed. I'd then quickly undress and leave the clothes beside her, pose, she'd get 10 or so photos and I'd quickly get dressed."

5. That said, she went on to tell me there was one moment where she felt very exposed. In a clearing in a wooded area, the photographer brought her to a gazebo/small bandstand.

"I always get some lovely photos here," she told her "with a real wide angle so you can see the gazebo and the trees behind it. It's beautiful".

So they got set up, albeit the photographer was a good deal further away than usual. When the time came to actually take some pics, she walked to the bandstand and took off her tracksuit, assuming she could just tuck it away out-of-sight.

However, there was no out-of-sight. The bandstand had a fence but it was like a stair bannister so you could not hide anything behind it. She glanced down at the ground in front but figured that would be in shot due to the wide lens.

The photographer realised her dilemma and left the tripod to walk over and offered to take the clothes. She walked back to her camera and put them on the ground behind her.

My lady realised that, if this was the moment for a random strolling hotel guest to happen on the scene, for the first time in the day her clothes weren't four feet away - it was more like 20 to 30 yards!

She endeavoured to bravely pose on! She must have done a good job of appearing brave though as the photographer decided she really had to get a variety of shots in the gazebo: standing straight in the doorway, leaning up against door frame, leaning over the fencing, perched on the fencing.

All told, my lady reckons she stood there, stark naked and 60 feet from her clothes, in a gazebo, in the grounds of a hotel she'd never been in before, knowing that there was nothing to stop a random customer from walking around the corner and getting an eyeful, for about 7 or 8 minutes!

That was the final shot of the day. I think it must have been clear that, when she put her clothes back on after that length of being naked in the open, she wasn't going to take them off again!

My wife was asked by a friend to do a Boudoir session with a friend. They both went and it was a discount for them both to go since the photographer could do a two for one. My wife brought three outfits and so did her friend and they both took separate sessions and went out for drinks and dinner later. The session had a hair and make-up person for both of them. My wife went second and watched her friend Marci.

Marci is 5'07", shoulder length short blond hair, blue eyes and slim. In my limited time I've spent with her, I would say she is B cup, but she has a very pretty face. My wife said they Marci wore a corset, a baseball jersey, hat, and thongs, and did a few topless shots for her husband. A few days later she got a call from the woman who did their shoots and she said the photos were ready. Cate went in to get them and they discussed the photos. Apparently, she loved the photos and so did Cate who spent a great deal of time looking them over and ordering some additional ones along with the package she was already getting.

Again the woman (I'll refer to her as "AS" from now on) mentioned about the boudoir shoot and Cate took an interest in it, but wondered if I would want to do it or we could schedule a time together that worked for AS too. Cate left it open and left. In a few days she would get all of the photos, a book, and a couple 8 x 10's we hoped to put up in the bedroom and in the master bath.

About two weeks past and we heard nothing from AS about the photos (when it was supposed to take only a week). Cate let another week pass before finally calling AS to see what was going on. She did not reach her and instead reached her voicemail. So she left a message.

A day passed and AS called back to Cate. Apparently, there was a problem and she could not locate any of Cate's shots. The negatives were essentially lost and AS couldn't find out where they were. Marci received hers, but nothing for Cate.

Cate was pretty upset for not only 'wasting a day', 'paid for nothing', and wondering if her naked self was out there somewhere. AS was very sympathetic to the situation and couldn't stop apologizing. She went on to explain how this had never ever happened before and that she was so sorry. Cate just felt irritated and was more upset (obviously) that her photos might be out there for all to see and make an appearance on the internet than wasting her time or paying for nothing. AS offered up a replacement shoot and to do a couples boudoir shoot for free as well. Cate thought it over and took it.

She called me later stating how upset she was and this woman was supposed to be a professional and yet lost her pictures. I calmed Cate down who seemed to have gotten even further worked up over this post phone call with AS. She went to look at AS's site and to find out about the couples shoot. AS had a advertisement about "your photos will never be compromised" and unfortunately Cate got upset more. I calmed her down and she started to relax.

Over the course of a few weeks Cate and AS went back and forth about how best to schedule, what to wear and such for the couple's shoot. Initially we couldn't do a shoot until about a month and a half later, but a cancellation that worked out well for us became available and we took it. We were supposed to meet with her to discuss the shoot, but never did so when I first met her was our shoot.

So on a Saturday, both Cate and I were to go to her studio for the shoot. The shoot would consist of Cate by herself first and then a separate, shorter shoot with me in it. Cate's shoot went well and she mentioned to me they were basically doing the same shoot as before with the same outfits. I was pretty turned on with the last two outfits and shoot.

They finished and AS came over to talk to us about the couples shoot. AS is about 28-34 with dark brown shoulder length wavy hair, gray eyes, and nose piercing. She stands about 5'4" and is cute looking. The day of the shoot she had no holey jeans and a red tight tank top.

Well, first I want to say thanks for reading my grammar challenged post. I've seen way too many errors in typing and just hope you all can 'muck' your way through it and still enjoy it. I got 'confused' when I typed what my wife was wearing so, let me clarify.

For the record, my wife wore a corset and thong for few photos, then some in just a pair of jeans (you guys know the jeans with 'holes' in them -PROBABLY the hottest look of all three at least for me) and one naked. I'm not sure why I typed "tube top and a thong", but opps.

Personally, I think those professional boudior photos are nothing more then-- filtered out- hazed out - imperfection hiding photos.... I really don't find them erotic at all because they are all doctored-up.

I don't need nudity to be erotic, but all that filtered- photo shoppped pro stuff really takes away alot. Nothing natural & fun loving about them. Stiff posing !!??

I think a good trade would obviously be more photo work done for free. I wouldn't ask for too much for free. Maybe another small session. Play it right and be generous with her and have fun and maybe she joins in and has a good time then she'll just offer even more. Good photographers put a lot of time into photo work so their time is a pretty good discount.

She offered to do another couples shoot and Cate agreed. I'm wondering what to expect.

Everyone's entitled to their opinion of course. To me, about half the thrill is the situation: naked in front of a photographer (most likely a complete stranger), perhaps out in the open air or in front of a hotel room window.

I understand, but I just don't like all that photoshopping haze/filtering, it just looks like the women are hiding every little inferfection to an extreme, and most bouduoir pics are mostly dressed in some way.. we're talking professional stuff here you pay for, right?

I mean I talk bouduior pics of the wife myself, non-pro, no filters....

For boudoir pics, I would want my wife to look her very best. The way I see her. Good lightning and artful posing to accentuate her best bits and de-emphasize the less attractive bits are what good photographers (pro or amateur) do. Filters are rarely necessary, but sometimes appropriate for a good effect.

My wife's done a little bit of modelling/promo work in the past and a photographer she worked with on a small job recently offered her some studio time he had available for some photos. She went along to take some photos for me as a surprise and asked me what sort of photos I would like. I thought I had written something on this but apparently not so here's the long and the short of it.

The photos turned out very good! In my opinion boudoir photography is a form of fantasy photography. If you want a photo of your wife/gf naked with no fantasy effects then so be it but hell you can do that at home. We wanted photos that we could put in an album and hang on the wall. My (now ex) wife surprised me many years ago with a boudoir photo set while I was deployed to the Persian Gulf during Desert Storm. She didn't sent them to me all at once but spread the set out over a couple of months to make it more exciting waiting for her letters.

She started out wearing a red teddy along with my old leather flight jacket and holding my old flight helmet. The next portion she sent was in a black corset with matching panties and stockings. The following portion she had changed from the corset to a black teddy, but had exposed her exquisite breasts. The final portion she was completely nude, but lying on her side with her beautiful ass toward the camera and partially d****d in a black satin sheet.

Needless to say, as a deployed sailor I jerked off many times to these wonderful photos.

My wife is a huge supporter of the arts in our community, specifically, visual arts, painting, photography. She arranges for speakers at the Arts Council meeting, we travel to art shows, host parties, the whole deal. She saw this painter's work at a local show and loved it, she arranged to have him speak at a meeting held at our home, BTW his specialty was portrait paintings.

After the meeting my wife told me she would love to have him paint her portrait, since it was expensive, she was checking with me 1st. My business was doing well at the time, so I gave her the go ahead since this was like a dream of hers. I wanted to be surprised so I stayed out of it.

His studio was about 100 miles from where we lived, so her posing sessions were all day trips and she went 3 or 4 times. Finally it was finished and we had an unveiling party, just close family and friends, and the painting was very good, worth every penny, museum quality. Then after everyone left she said I have another surprise for you, this is why it was so expensive, she brought out another canvas, unveiled it, and there was this beautiful reclining nude of her. How daring was it? Full frontal, everything exposed.

I loved it, especially when she described how turned on she was exposing herself to the painter, but the problem was where do we hang this, certainly not in the den, too many family members, like granddaughters etc.. So I built a cabinet frame to hang it in the master bedroom with doors to cover it up when it others were around. I thought my cabinet was as much a work of art as the painting.

Who did see it? The AC repair guy, the bug man, maid service, remodeling crew when we had some work done, I think some of those guys took pics of it. So what happens, our house is robbed one day, and they took the nude, police detective, says that is the first art work her has ever seen stolen. My mail suspect is one of the guys in the remodel crew.
