The bush will never return. There's too much money to be made having everyone shave. Women began shaving their armpits and legs about a century ago and there's no indication a 'cyclical' fashion trend has ever come about where they stopped. Soon we'll all be hairless.

It doesn't really matter what men want, it's what women prefer. And most women prefer not to remove all their body hair. Shaving legs and armpits will likely always be a grooming staple with most (though, not all) women, but removing pubic hair from the nether regions will not be as ubiquitous as it has been the past decade. My lady says that the more educated the woman, the less likely that she will shave it all off. I'm not exactly sure why that is, let's leave that one for the sociologists to debate.

There is no more boring a debate than this one (its difficult for one to understand a sexual preference other than their own) but I want to clarify that I wasn't saying it had anything to do with men's preferences. I personally find it the saddest thing in the world that we don't find natural bodies attractive. I like pubic hair, but I also like underarm hair, which is generally not appreciated.

The history, as I know it, is as follows: Like many things, it was invented by the military and popularized by pornography (like, say, the internet). Soldiers on leave fucked prostitutes and enjoyed the shaved look, which was predominantly to done to mask crab lice. Porn actresses and models, always looking to distinguish themselves, began shaving in the 80s and when porn went truly mainstream (not with Deep Throat, but with net access) it soon became a fashion trend. Of course shrinking bathing suits helped it along. And I've never watched an episode, but I'd wager Sex and the City did a lot to bring the concept to older women.

Then it got tied in to hygiene (which any doctor will dispute) and the more young girls who see everyone else in the change room at school shaved, the more it will continue as the norm. Peer pressure is strong, but nowhere more so than with sexuality. Pubic hair once indicated adulthood, now shaving does. It's not unlike a boys moustache. For a while he wears his peach fuzz to show he's matured, but eventually he shaves it to illustrate his maturity. He may eventually grow it as a stylistic choice but the figures are still only 17% (up from 14 a few years ago) of men who have facial hair. We can expect similar numbers for women: those that don't give a fuck about societal norms or have other reasons for not wanting to shave. But the figures will be low.

Whereas the numbers for tattoos (half the population now, between ages 18 and 35 I think), piercings and even cosmetic surgery climb higher each year. Unaltered bodies are becoming rare (83% at least have their ears pierced).

Even enthusiasts here tend to balk at the truly unkept (read: natural) bushes occasionally on display.

Big bush is not returning and most men will celebrate that fact, for some reason. I imagine those that bemoan the lack of pubic hair tend to be older. Men who grew up on shaved vaginas in their porno tend to find hair repulsive.

Lastly, I should add that I am not taking a moralistic tone here. My sexual tastes certainly stray into some very unnatural territories.

I'm a naturist, too. You can't rely on naturists, of all people, to discern a trend among the general public in pubic hair. Take a look at the WNBR and Fremont Solstice threads. There are a ton of young women with full bushes out there.

Young boys are tired of everything. I think natural bodies will return by curiosity.

An excellent topic! Here's one of my wife, taken in June this year in a location that may surprise. Hard to guess from the photo I suspect.

She hasn't shaved her bush for about a year here, or her armpits for a month and a half. Personally that's just the way I like it - plenty of people don't and that's fine, but please don't say anything negative about her choice.

Is bush making a comeback? - I think it might be to some extent from what I've seen. Fashions do change, that's the only thing certain about them.

When my wife and I were nudists in the late 1970's and most of the 1980's, the only girls that shaved were either blondes from a bottle, who did not want the carpet to dispute the d****s, or strippers who had to keep the triangle trimmed so no hair could pop out of the G-string. These dancers wanted all over tans, and this was before tanning beds. The different natural pussy hair was very entertaining, with some very dense, others where the hair was very thin, with too few being really red or blonde. Some had arched tops, with others straight across horizontally. A few had hair that ran onto the tops of their thighs but only a few.

I saw a girl who had her pubic hair above the slit, but trimmed it all off alongside it, leaving her lips fully exposed. I begged my wife to do that but she somehow felt the triangle of pubic hair allowed her a bit of modestly and if she wanted to show it all, she could spread her legs and give the whole show of her pink secrets. She did that often with strangers and I loved it.

As always, pictures are better than discussion when it comes to sex. My curiosity, though, is why the hell the word 'd****s' (meaning curtains) was censored??

Did you know it wasn't until razor companies wanted to double their audience (ie., add women) that women shaved at all? legs, crotch, underarms...none of it. then the companies artificially made it cool to be hairless....

That, or the plant that is a member of the mustard family with the same name as the crime.;)

Well, call me a pervert, but I like the extremes of pubic grooming. I either like them so bare it's as if they never knew hair, or the other way, so hairy they look like they never knew a comb. In between, groomed, manicured, or heaven forbid, the racing stripe are too . . . artificial.
