why do some gifs move on the page and others don't

Sparky 45 06-08-2014 04:59 PM

It has to do with image size.

If the thumbnail (generated by OCC when you upload,) is the same size or larger than the original, the thumbnail will move. If the original is larger, the thumbnail will be a still.
I have no idea what the threshold size is. The same thing happens with JPG files too. The smaller images end up at the bottom of the post and are not clickable.

If anyone knows off hand what the threshold size is, please post.

Thanks!

someone can delete the gifs if they like

seems like its dimensions that affect whether it moves or not

Sparky 45 06-11-2014 10:50 AM

Sorry, I wasn't very clear.

Yes, dimensions. Not file size.

I like the first one the best. Seems there is a bit of blur starting in the second.

I think that you are getting the size down to a science! ;)
All of the .GIFs are working without clicking on them.

That's a tough call, as they all are good. But, in my
unprofessional eye, it appears that the center one
has the most realistic movement.

But then again... I could be wrong, like I said, they all are good.

I think the one on the right (#2) flows the best.
The one on the left has some jerky movements.
