Seen this kind of pic before, i belive there called posture pictures and are med school student's

The pics above aren't it....but I have heard of what you are talking about.

I always thought it was kind of like Urband Legend that they use to make the freshmans take these
"so-called" profile pics when coming in to one of the Ivy League schools. (forgot which one)
I had read about it an article and it was legit too....and used for some kind of profiling.
The big thing is that some of the celebrities out there and some news people (anchor,reporters etc.) who had attended the college had tried to make them not accessible....Diane Sawyer being one of the latest.
They have since stopped the unusual profile photos...but then again maybe Akira Gomi is the one who took those pictures and now has published them.....hence why the pics above seem older telling by their fashion wardrobe.

Yep they're Akria Gomi from his La series. He has various series some of Japenese women, some of Chinese. I was told they were to mimic posture series from some Ivy League school from 30s, 40s and 50s.

yes there was a big scandal when these pictures started to appear on the web because of the high profile of some of the people posing for these pics reached.

That's the one "naughty area" you're not allowed to show in Japan. It used to be that the crotch had to be obscured no matter what. Now it's only when there's not enough pubic hair to sufficiently hide the hoo-ha.

Generally, all that's expected is that the producer go through the motions of censorship. Some X-rated comics are "censored" with tiny black bars that hide nothing.

Love the bride clothed and then naked. All brides should have to take photos like these and then hand them out to the ushers. To be fair the bridegroom should have to do the same and give them to the bridemaids. Any more of the bride clothed, unclothed photos?

The posture photos that were done for whatever reason were B&Ws. Why this artist decided to mimic them in color is anyone's guess.

Akira Gomi Postures Series
 

Here's what I know FWIW about the various postures series by Akira Gomi

They are NOT the legendary Ivy League posture pics, though they were inspired by them.

There are four series of pictures:

Yellows 1 through 3 - Japanese and Chinese women. Gomi defended his use of what many considered an ethnic slur for the title. Supposedly, the Chinese pics (Yellows 2 I believe) were taken clandestinely taken as Chinese laws forbid nude photography.

Americans - Taken in L.A. in 1993/4 - All of the 100 women in this series (the "posture**.jpg" series) apparently used pseudonyms - many unconvincing for that matter - and I can't find any info on any of the girls by Googling, so I can't say for sure whether they did any other nude work. There was also a interactive CD-ROM put out by Gomi of the Americans series, which I've seen screen caps of, but know little else about. It does not appear to have much material that the books (and scans) lack. Gomi's alcoholism was becoming a problem at this point, so there were no further posture series from him, though he is still very active as a photographer. There were Yahoo Groups devoted to Posture Photos - several in fact, Yahoo kept closing them - and in one of them, someone scanned the photos in the series above #85, where most websites that distibute the pics cut off, and uncovered some minor discrepancies between the book, CD-ROM, and paperback. The Americans photos have been circulating on the 'net for so long, under so many different names, out of context, re-edited and re-touched, that its difficult to tell exactly what's been posted, but I believe I can post a few fills.

For a similar clothed/unclothed photo series, look for the "Naked ..." series by American photographer Greg Freidler from that same era. All three books (New York, L.A., and London) follow the same basic formula: B&W photos of everyday people clothed and naked side-by-side and in the same poses. A bit artsy-fartsy for me but interesting.
