Wife recently related to me that she went braless for about 10 years, from last couple of years of high school through late 20s, mostly in the 70s. Started because her best friend in high school had started. She said lots of guys checked out her obvious jiggle over the years and she had a few funny incidents. Oe was when her boss in the late 70s seemed to be constantly staring at her boobs. She entioned it to a coworker who said "It's probably your sweater."She was wearing a home-knitted or crocheted sweater, ne of several a friend had made for her. And it had big holes/stitches/gaps (not sure the right term), wife says they were about the size of a vitamin C tablet. And no bra underneath. So after her friends observation, she went into the bathroom to look at herself in the mirror and saw that not only were her aereolas very visibly thru the holes, but one of her rather long nipples (see pics in my other posts) was poking through one of the holes!

I don't know how to articulate it, but a lot of women are so used to their boobs that they don't notice? My wife, for example, will be braless around the house and if some people are coming over, I ask her if she plans to remain braless or not, and she often says, "no one can tell." Add my name to the list of old codgers that fondly recall the late 60s to mid seventies. Micro-miniskirts, braless, halters, hot pants. It's my opinion that going braless puts smaller-breasted women on a more even playing field. When all women wear bras, there isn't much to judge breasts by other than size. My wife is now 40 and has been braless for about 10 years now - she is an a cup and used to go braless half the time anywy; now she only normally wears one to go jogging or to the gym. I try to convince myself that I am not old but I too remember with fondness, going to school in the 60's and 70's and looking at what the girls were wearing... Those were the days!

I am lucky because my wife is a 36C and never wears a bra at home and rarely when we go out. She has prominent nipples, especially when they are erect, so I get to look at her "pokies" all the time. I didn't get to fully enjoy these braless decades as it was happening (a bit young to appericate it) but thanks to some of the new TV stations and Netflix I get to live vicariously and hope/wish the style comes back again. I hope this adds to the topic and doesn't drift it too far.

One other benefit of the braless era was that it was also the era of cameltoe, although I didn't hear it called that in those days. Our group had a secretary - young, thin and tall - who had a pair of corduroys that sucked WAAAY up into her slit. We called them her "Read My Lips" cords in honor of GHW Bush's famous quip.

Seemed like the more expensive the jeans the bigger the cameltoe. I shared an apartment in Kuala Lumpur with two Malaysian Chinese secretaries one of whom worked for the American Embassy and the other for the Australian High Commission (the equivalent of an embassy between two member nations of the British Commonwealth). In the 70s it was fashionable to let your nipples show through. Almost every woman at least wanted the outline of her nipples showing through. Some women, like my wife, wanted to show them off so wearing thin blouses that showed the nipples darker color through the fabric was done a lot too. I'm telling you, it used to be wonderful to walk in a mall or just sit on a bench and watch the girls walk by. Was flipping through the channels on the Tv the other night and came across some '70's movie that looked really bad after a 5 second viewing and kept going to see what else was on. The headlights were definitely on high... :) After the commercial break the movie was just too lame and the T&A insufficient to continue watching. What a great era. Sights that would make your eyes bug out today were commonplace late '60's, thru the '70's. Not necessarily see-thru, but just that in summer clothes, seems like most younger women had their tits jiggling around, and nipple bumps a common sight.

Was flipping through the channels the other day [500 channels and nothing on?!] and came across a MASH rerun on one of those nostalgia stations / networks. Have seen them so many times, from the original weekly broadcasts to the daily reruns ad nauseam decades ago. Have not seen MASH in years and thought it would be fun to watch a bit just for kicks.
