San Fermines (And you thought Mardi Gras was wild!)

Hereīs a real treat... images from the big party thrown each year in Pamplona, Navarra, that lasts for an entire week, and makes look Mardi Gras like Disneyland... Please bear with me if i run into a repeat, but given the large quantity of images and their similarity, even using special software itīs hard to rule out some duplicates. Enjoy!

Sanfermines are famous because bulls running by the street. Some pictures like these have create a controversy. Feminist and left-wing groups want to finish with these images. They say that are offensive for women...
These girls don't seem to be suffering

About the Sanfermines

Hey Nacnat, good point you raise here. Controversy, there is, right, but you have to be there to understand it. The minute you set foot on Pamplona for the Sanfermines, you start to notice the festive atmosphere of the place. Everybody is friendly and everybody is having a good time, you spend your time shaking hands, toasting right and left and singing and laughing all the time. Before you realize it, you are drunk, and you stay drunk for the whole week. These pictures are a recollection of events that happened during the festivities. Theyīre like the ending credits of the movie īThe Hang overī, if you want to know what you did at the San Fermines, you have to check the pictures out, cause you have no memory of what you did during the whole week, and thatīs the point of attending the Sanfermines, everybody that goes there is aware of that. Having said that... Enjoy! And donīt sweat it, cause i have some videos of the Sanfermines (low quality, sorry), that i will post further on.

Cheers!

Incredible. They run panicked, innocent animals through the streets for fun before slaughtering them in an arena, yet some people have decided that the element of this festival they're offended by is people consensually exposing their bodies.

To be honest, I almost find it difficult to enjoy these pictures knowing what they're associated with... but damn this is some grade A exhibitionism:

Panicked? I could say what is really panic! But I don't think this forum was the appropiate. I won't talk more about our traditions. They are ours. But I want to repeat some words written by Heisenberg: "Controversy, there is, right, but you have to be there to understand it. The minute you set foot on Pamplona for the Sanfermines, you start to notice the festive atmosphere of the place. Everybody is friendly and everybody is having a good time, you spend your time shaking hands, toasting right and left and singing and laughing all the time." Every year more and more foreigners go to Sanfermines. What will be the reason?
Long life to Sanfermines

Long life to Sanfermines

Read Hemingway's "The Sun Also Rises". It pretty much captures the spirit and atmosphere these photos depict. Lots
of wine, more than a little sex, one helluva party, with death hanging around in the background.

Good novel. Great photos.
