Question:

I used to get these clips and images for my late husband, when he could no longer sit at the computer long enough to get them himself. He enjoyed them. In all honesty, so did I, so I'm still wandering by now and then. I like watching pretty women, but as I've said here before, my goal is to never find photos or videos of myself here or on any similar site.

Some of the users here still have dialup. At home, I'm one of those people. The time it takes to download a clip doesn't matter to me, because I'm not tied to the computer waiting. If it takes thirty or forty or more minutes to get a 25 second clip, I can answer my e-mail, or write a report for work, or do the laundry, or soak in the hot tub, or watch the Padres on TV with the sound down and listen to Jerry and Ted on the radio.

What I wonder about is all those clips, many of which are 10 of 15 seconds of video along with a ten second leader with a name and a fireworks pattern. Would it save the forum operator any significant money if that leader was only three or four seconds, rather than ten? The trailer is short. Why not the leader? Can that be done? Should it be done?

I'm on here at no personal expense, but somebody is paying heavy coin to provide this forum for those who enjoy it for free. Is there a way the users can cut the expense?

I enjoy Sick Joey's monogram on each of his videos. Lets you know its a quality video. You can't tell an artist to not put his signature on his paintings.

I've thought about that too so i tried to make my videos without the header and it makes almost no diffrence it saves 17.5 KB of space the header is not really video it's a picture with color effect. i'll post a video with and without so you can see the diffrence. BTW the header is the cover from the anaconda dvd

I was thinking about the connect time whilst the video was downloading. If the leader and the trailer don't add any time, then presumably it isn't adding any cost to the bill of whoever pays for the bandwidth. I know somebody is paying for what we get here for free. If it doesn't add to the forum owner's cost, that's all I need to know.

While I've long enjoyed Sick Joey's/Kitt5000's posts, I tend to agree. Short video clips with lengthy unrelated title sequences get annoying after a while. And even though I'm not on dialup anymore, I still remember when I was and how I couldn't begin to preview a video I was downloading (to see if I wanted to continue downloading it to the end) when it took 5 or 10 minutes just to download someone's fancy title sequence before the actual video I was trying to judge began.

Nothing wrong with a short title, or even a long title at the end, IMHO. Just my 2-and-a-half cents (inflation, you know :) )

Sick Joey, why not just put a watermark on the videos? It seems like it'd please everyone because watermarks are much harder to strip off and put on another site and they don't add superfluous footage to the video.

And it does not have a option to put text over the video. I also have win dvd creator 2 witch can do that but it does not let me save to mpeg form unless i'm durning it to a disc.

Your just going to have to live with it . It's to much bullshit the way i have things set up . I capture using windvd 2 then i convert it to mpeg using moviestar 5 so people do not have to worry about codecs and shit. So either live with it the way it is or just don't download my videos. I'm not going to make this a second job for me I already have a job that i dont like but at least i get paid for that one .

I agree with the last post. I like Sick Joey's videos. I also like the fact that they are free. If he is willing to provide them, we should all thank him, not give him a hard time because it is not the exact way we want it.

No no, please don't misunderstand. It was not a complaint at all. I was just making a suggestion that I thought would be helpful to Sick Joey bc I get the sense that he doesn't like pay sites stealing his videos. I love the videos, header or not. Please keep up the awesome posts. Apologies for being unclear.

Joey should be in the poster Hall of Fame. Thank you so much. If you don't think his posts are worth a few seconds of his intro logo then you shouldn't be watching the vids.
