Vintage & Classic Cars
10 Attachment(s)
I have loved cars from the days when I was too young to understand that women have more tactile charms.
This thread attempts to mix the two topics and throw in a quiz. Please try to identify the cars. I'll give it a go, but my knowledge is full of holes, particularly in relation to newer machinery. If you want to answer the quiz or post pix on topic, please jump in. |

Thank you for your interest, gentlemen.
I've corrected pic 9 to a 59 Buick and of course, as Voy points out, the Renault is a Dauphin Time to post a few more, but stock is limited and will run out in a few more posts. To make things a little slicker, I have put my guess into the photo name. Comments and corrections are always welcome and I'd be delighted if anybody added some pics to the thread. |
that blue one is definately a renault twingo(would you just look at the boobs on her!!!) but as for the rest, i'm stumped.
|
cars
I agree on the Renault; the orange one is a Fiat 128, and the last one a MK3 Cortina.
|
cars
The Alfa is not a Giulietta but a much later (early-80's) 105-series Spyder,
Giulietta nomenclature having been dropped in about 1963-4. |
Continuing with the mission

A few car pics from me, now. My internet is moving at the speed of an Argentinian glacier, so I'll only post five pics each time in case it drops out mid-post. Here goes. No 1 is a 1928 Dodge No 2 is a 1947 Plymouth No 3 is a 1956 Cadillac No 4 is a 1963 Jaguar E type No 5 is a 1972 Cadillac. As always, these are guesses, not facts. Corrections and comments are welcome. Your posts are even more welcome. |

Interest is fading, it seems.
But I love the topic, so I'll post a few more before I let this thread die *****WATERMARKED PHOTO REMOVED***** |

Sorry I missed

Sorry Mods, I didn't notice the watermark. My eyes focussed a little higher on the page.
Classic cars derive most of their appeal from their shape and beauty. It's like cosmic forces intersect at one particular time and space to create something that's really special. When modern replicas are built, the appeal can be lost if the dimensions of the replica are only a little different. A wise imitator copies without change. It's the same with models, I guess. Pamela Anderson was totally hot in her first Playboy shoot. But she messed around with that perfect cosmic original adding unnecessary stuff and now she looks like a grandma that splashed around in a contaminated fountain of youth. Dismount from the hobby horse and post some pics. OK No 1 is a 1926 Renault No 2 is a 1934 Peugeot No 3 is a 1944 Willys Jeep No 4 is a 1958 Pontiac No 5 is a 1964 Chevy Comments and corrections are always welcome. Post some pics too, if you like. |
Thanks for the post

Twingos are remarkable cars. They are simple and economical on the outside, but the interior is elegant and luxurious Here's what I mean: |

Please Convey my apologies
6 Attachment(s)
Whoops, Jayemm!
Please convey my sincere apologies to your wife. I probably got her name wrong too. There are two things I can say in mitigation. Firstly, my understanding of cars has always been much greater than my understanding of women. Secondly, that's a low res photo and it blurs some of the beauty. Can you post a high res photo and let me have a second guess? Time now to shut up and post. No 1 is a 1932 Renault No 2 is a 1938 Dodge No 3 is a 1955 Chevy No 4 is a 1967 MGB No 5 is a 1978 Oldmsobile Cutlass No 6 is a 2006 BMW325i Coupe As always, these are my best guess. Comments and corrections are always welcome |
Rust and Neglect
5 Attachment(s)
All old cars inevitably succumb to rust and neglect. This thread is no different. There is insufficient interest and the thread is prey to rust and decay. I'll post what I have and then we'll all focus on some new topic. Boats and planes are well covered already. Maybe there are enough pix out there to sustain a small thread on surfing.
Anyway, here are the pix for today. 1933 Buick 1956 Cadillac 1958 Vauxhall Velox 1985 Datsun Station Wagon 1982 Skoda |

The Datsun is actually an Oldsmobile, and the CAMARO is really a Firebird.
I'm enjoying seeing the old cars with pretty girls. Thanks for sharing!:D |
Thanks for the Correction

Thanks for the correction, Sparky.
I'd score the Comaro / Firebird thing as a near miss, but mistaking an Oldsmobile for a Datsun is just plain embarassing. Time to have another go: 1956 Cadillac 1959 Cadillac 1962 E type Jaguar 2004 Mazda Miata Don't have a clue. Any suggestions? 2004 VW Polo Comments, Corrections and more car pix are always welcome |
i love this thread!
|
Yeah, I'll give you the Firebird/Camaro...
I think the main difference in that year was he knobs on the radio. The unidentified from your last post, that's going to be tough! I'm thinking the antenna location and the trim stripe are going to be the most useful features to ID it.
Great girls and great cars! Thanks for doing these!:D |

one or two are not classic cars.
|
my best guess
1. about a 38 chevy 2. not sure 3. corvair 4. mid to late 50's ford mercury 5. the purple wagon is a photochop 6. 7. 8.? |
The one with the classic babe...
The last two shots are a Saturn Vue. The photoshopped one appears to be a Chevy Nomad. (the car is real, the girl is shopped.) Could number two be a VW Bug?

Great posts in this one! Great idea for a thread!
I was just looking for a girl posing with a Delorean to add to the thread....about as rare as a Delorean itself..LOL! The E-Type girl is sexy and so are the ones from the 20's and 30's...Thanks!!!:D |
Hard to tell for sure.

I must correct an injustice. To have such a collection of classic cars and not have the Corvette properly represented is a travesty. I intend to correct this immediately.

Bravada it is!

I just fixed cars for about 20 years. Never paid that much attention to the sheetmetal.
Here's my best car/girl picture. The car is a 1955 Thunderbird, the girl is Carla of unknown vintage. I'd have done almost anything to get her top off!:D |

A few more and a two more of me and my Bravada. It was a cheep camera.

Wow, Guys!

Wow, Guys, thank you.
I'm almost out of stock (the last of my photos are posted below) and I was afraid this thread would die. Just love this sudden rush of sheet metal and beauty. Special thanks for the straight axle Corvettes, which are outstanding. But I need help identifying them. Single headlamp = 1956 and 1957. Double headlamp = 58, 59, 60 &61? And I have a special yearning for well made hot-rods. Can we sneak them into this thread also? After all, they started life as a classic car. Here's what I think I posted today: 63 E type 2006 Opel Corsa (Not a classic, but check out the interior Hotrod, from a 52 Ford, I think 78 Oldsmobile 78 Oldsmobile Any Comments from Hardwood on this? As always, Please comment, please correct, please name the unidentified cars and please post more. |

But the Cars in this thread are merely the frames that contain the art and beauty of their passengers. Does anyone have any more to contribute? |
