SL(U)TWALK
 

Sl(u)twalk is a new event and about the only one I know of that the OCC censors won't allow you to print the name of. This event began in Toronto only just last year, but already it is spreading fast with pics becoming quite numerous. As the auto OCC censor well knows, sl*t is an inflammatory, derogatory word, and apparently it was the use of that word by a Toronto police officer last year that inspired the creation of the event. Women march to protest r(a)pe and sexual violence in general. I guess it has struck a chord around the world which is why so many sl*twalks have already been franchised.

Anyway, I'm not the first one to post on this topic. For example, C_Dick posted some pics he took at last years event. Go here:

This is a really fine thread and I don't mean to usurp it except that it specifically refers to Toronto in the title, and like WNBR, etc - it is has already been franchised (as evidenced by follow up posts) in NYC, Berlin, etc. I'd rather these all go under one roof, and being a relatively new thread and event, I can simply shovel the best pics from that thread over here to hopefully make this the "go to" thread as time goes on. In the meantime, I'll add some more pics from 2012.

noteworthy to me is the appearance of full nudity at last years Toronto sl*twalk. Apparently, full nudity this year was not captured, at least not by Eric Parker at Flickr. Here are the fully naked pics..

After seeing these in C_Dick's thread last year, I half joked that this looked more like Folsom street fair than a protest march. But it is a protest, and one that is more naked (at least last years) than a typical gay or Dyke march.

This is Toni Johnson, owner of a local sex club and a woman who I gather is frequently seen nude in public. C_Dick remarked in his thread that "The reporters that cover the events seem to gravitate towards her for some reason." :)
I think I can see why :) but was she there this year also? I have not seen any evidence...

digressing for a moment, here is more on Toni Johnson. Her sex club is called "Oasis Aqualounge". Apparenly, Toni will use any excuse to get naked in public to promote her club. She and others have appeared naked in front of her club, at the local pride parade, etc and now at sl*twalk also. Here are some pics -

ONe correction - the naked girl wearing the bridal veil I posted earlier was photographed at sl*twalk Berlin, not Toronto, last year..

I'm impressed with the scope and spread of this event. I really was not prepared, for example, to find any pics from any sl*twalk in Portland, OR where i live. But apparently, 1000 people gathered last Aug for the Portland version, and nudity was present. Where was I? Totally oblivious...

In a nutshell, what I'm seeing here is a lot of potential for new parade nudity around the world, possibly as much or even more than in a typical Pride/Dyke March weekend. thats saying something...but figure that the nature of the protest is more explicitly sexual than an LBGT event, and those participating might be more comfortable or inclined to be naked in public.

It usually seems to take a year or two for new events to go global - someone must have done an awful lot of work helping this event to spread as fast as it has..

Its rather interesting that the march or walk or protest or whatever you want to call it, passed by the Metro Toronto Police HQ. You can't actually see it in the pics, but I drive past this location every day and can tell you the HQ is JUST out of frame to the right in 4/6 of the pics here. In spanish (Or portugese, I don't know), the sl*twalk is called "Marcha das Vadias". Searching on that will produce galleries like this one:

also, some misc pics from Brazil and Berlin which seem to have pretty vibrant events already. Guess the theme hits home there. Incidently, wherever there are lots of sex industry workers, you would think a march would have a lot of appeal. Try Amsterdam, for example...

and these were posted a few weeks ago in the naked protesters thread. I had seen them and really liked them, but didn't realize until now that "Marcha das Vadias" and "sl*twalk" were one and the same event. From Brazil. Good stuff and a really high "density" of toplessness...:)

Its looking at pics like these that make me want to speculate as to future of this event, especially when compared to LGBT pics. Things are looking good...now if we can coax more full nudity...

Boston is one of those cities that perplexes me a bit - it doesn't produce a lot of public nudity despite being a college town with lots of universities. They do have the Tufts Quad run and Harvard primal scream, but not much else. Their WNBR is small and disorganized. If i had public nudity pics organized by city, Boston's folder would hardly contain any pics. They did hold a sl*twalk last year though, but this is the sexiest pic of the lot...

Toni did not attend the S l u t Walk this year, she intended to, but she basically did not realize it was coming up, and she missed it. It was held on a Friday, which she did not expect. I missed it too, when I heard about it on the radio after, I asked her, and she had not gone.

But she will be appearing, as naked as ever, in the Toronto Pride parade this Sunday. She will be riding in the back of the Oasis shower truck, as she did last year, with a couple of other women. I will do what I can to get some pictures, the parade is such a zoo, but I will do my best.

And if you like naked pictures of Toni, there is a good supply on the Oasis website.
