Bodystocking
9 Attachment(s)
A bodystocking is a one-piece article of lingerie that covers the torso, legs and sometimes the arms of the wearer. Similar in texture and look to stockings or pantyhose, a bodystocking is not a unitard, which is worn as an outfit or article of clothing, or a leotard, which is used as a practice garment or performance costume for acrobats, gymnasts and other similar performers. Designed to be revealing, bodystockings are worn by as undergarmets for a belly dancer or as an exotic dancer's costume
Designed to replace underwear, a bodystocking can be worn with nothing underneath it, though one may chose to wear undergarments underneath it, such as a bra or panties for extra coverage or support. Due to the close-fitting and one-piece aspect of bodystockings, one may have to remove the entire garment in order to use the restroom. Due to the sheer look of a bodystocking, they are generally not worn by itself. Bodystockings also come in lace, fishnet and satin, the latter which may just consist of the top portion of the bodystocking, allowing it to be worn underneath a suitjacket to serve as a blouse |

Bodysuit
7 Attachment(s)
In clothing, a bodysuit, body-liner, or body is a unisex form-fitting garment that covers the torso. The bodysuit often has sleeves and varying collars. A bodysuit is distinguished from the similar leotard by the use of snaps or hooks at the crotch. A bodysuit may be worn as a top for the smooth line it gives or because it cannot become untucked from trousers or a skirt. They may also be worn generally by women as underwear, activewear, or foundation garments. Unlike a leotard, a bodysuit is not usually considered a form of athletic wear.
Unfortunately seem to be more often worn my TVs... these are the best I can manage |
Bodice
5 Attachment(s)
A bodice, historically, is an article of clothing for women, covering the body from the neck to the waist. In modern usage it typically refers to a specific type of upper garment common in Europe during the 16th to the 18th century, or to the upper portion of a modern dress to distinguish it from the skirt and sleeves.
Harder than expected to find anything good for this! |
Quite a project
My wife always wonders how I know the names of some of these articles of clothing. It's from many years of studying beautiful women. You sir, are quite literally, writing the book!
Love the example you've posted for each garment so far. Looking forward to your next chapter! |
This is going to be a terrific thread. Thanks for putting it together! :D

Please continue on....
I have always followed the rule that you must try to learn something new every day! :D |
Will do my best to keep up with it - got house-guests at the moment so have to be subtle :)

Boy Shorts
10 Attachment(s)
Boy shorts, also known as boy short panties, boys' cut, booty shorts, shorties, tap panties or boyleg briefs are a kind of women's underwear that goes all the way down the hips, named for their similarity in looks to men's knit boxer shorts, which themselves are a variation on traditional boxer shorts. Some even resemble men's briefs, complete with fly and contrast trim. Unlike men's briefs, however, this style is usually lower cut, and is designed to fit and flatter a woman's figure. Boy shorts often cover most of the buttocks area.
Boy shorts have become a popular choice, since they avoid displaying a prominent visible panty line, and are a modest and comfortable alternative to thongs and conventional panties. They are also popularly matched with a camisole top and worn as loungewear. Cotton-spandex blends and lace are the most popular materials for boy shorts. |
Bra
A brassiere (pronounced UK: /ˈbręzɪər/, US: /brəˈzɪər/; commonly referred to as a bra /ˈbrɑː/) is an undergarment that covers, supports, and elevates the breasts. Since the late 19th century, it has replaced the corset as the most widely accepted method for supporting breasts.
Manufacturers produce an extremely wide variety of bras today that serve a variety of purposes. Bras can enhance the perceived shape of a woman's breasts, minimize or enlarge her perceived breast size, restrain breast movement during an activity such as exercise, enhance her cleavage, conceal her nipples, overcome sagging, serve prosthetic purposes, or facilitate nursing. In certain circumstances, like the work place, employers may require a woman to wear a bra. In most Western countries, the majority of women wear bras, although a minority choose to go without, sometimes for health or comfort reasons. Breast support is built into some garments like camisoles, tank-tops and backless dresses, alleviating the need to wear a separate bra. Most bras are designed to be form-fitting, to lift the breasts off the chest wall if they sag, and to restrain their movement. Bra designers and manufacturers originally produced bras that were purely functional and gradually added elements to improve the design, but they have now largely shifted from functionality to fashion. Manufacturers' standards and sizes vary widely, making it difficult for women to find a bra that fits. Bra-measurement procedures conflict with one another. Even professional bra fitters disagree on the correct size for the same woman. Women's breasts vary widely in size and shape; most are asymmetric to a degree and can change from month to month depending on the menstrual cycle, pregnancy, or weight gain or loss. As a result, from 7585% of women wear the incorrect bra size.[1] The bra has become a garment with erotic significance and a feminine icon or symbol with political and cultural significance beyond its primary function. Some feminists consider the brassiere a symbol of the repression of women's bodies.[2] Culturally, when a young girl gets her first bra, it may be seen as a rite of passage and symbolic of her coming of age.[3] I'm going to try and post a few different types... |

Sports Bra
9 Attachment(s)
A sports bra is a bra that provides additional support to female breasts during physical exercise. Sturdier than typical bras, they minimize breast movement, alleviate discomfort, and reduce potential damage to chest ligaments. Many women wear sports bras to reduce pain, and physical discomfort caused by breast movement during exercise. Some sports bras are designed to be worn as outerwear during exercise such as jogging. Larger breasted women may be prevented from taking part in sports or exercise when their breasts move excessively.

And that's it for the bras (unless I've missed something specific?) On to Bustiers, Camisoles and Camiknickers!
|
Bustier
10 Attachment(s)
A bustier (alternately bustiere) is a form-fitting garment for women, which is traditionally worn as lingerie. Its primary purpose is to push up the bust by tightening against the upper midriff and forcing the breasts up, while gently shaping the waist. Nowadays, it might also be worn as a push-up bra under a low-backed dress, or as a camisole for outer wear. The bustier can also be worn as a half-slip under diaphanous upper garments if a bold display of the midriff is not desired.
A bustier resembles a basque, but is shorter. It reaches down only to the ribs or waist. |
Camisole
7 Attachment(s)
In modern usage a camisole or cami is a loose-fitting[5][6] sleeveless woman's undergarment which covers the top part of the body but is shorter than a chemise. A camisole normally extends to the waist but is sometimes cropped to expose the midriff, or extended to cover the entire pelvic region. Camisoles are manufactured from light materials,[7] commonly cotton-based, occasionally satin or silk, or stretch fabrics such as lycra, nylon, or spandex.
A camisole typically has thin "spaghetti straps" and can be worn over a brassiere or without one. Since 1989, some camisoles[8] have come with a built-in underwire bra or other support which eliminates the need for a bra among those who prefer one. Recently, camisoles have been known to be used as outerwear.[9] ***** PRO PICS REMOVED ***** |
there should definitely be more women walking around in sports bras!

Camiknickers
2 Attachment(s)
A teddy, also called a bodysuit or camiknicker, is an undergarment or lingerie which covers a female's torso and crotch in the one garment combining the functions of a camisole and panties. It is a similar style of garment to a one-piece swimsuit or bodysuit, but is typically looser and more sheer, and may be designed to be put on or taken off over the shoulders or to open at the crotch and lifted over the head.
Quite difficult to find many of these, many "teddy's" that come up are either not meeting this description, or soft fluffy and cuddly, but definitely not lingerie! Please feel free to fill. |
