Can anyone identify these movies?
 

Hi there folks. I'm hoping someone might know the name of one or both of the following movies. They both left indelible memories in my mind back when I was a teenager. They also both involved ENF scenes.

The first one was a sort of Sam Spade/Philip Marlowe style detective picture. The PI's investigations bring him in to contact with some sort of organised crime boss. This takes place either in a coastal resort or on an island of some sort. Whilst looking into this king pin's affairs, he encounters the guy's blonde secretary and there's an obvious chemistry between them. You wouldn't be surprised if they hooked up by the end of the film.

However, the scene that's in my mind takes place in a nightclub, late one night. It's closed and all the regular patrons are gone home except for the crime boss and some associates. The detective comes in to confront him about some issue or whatever. The boss, to show off his power, suggests that the secretary should dance for them all. She's not keen at all but he gives her a look. "Play some music!" he announces.

The band strike up and she proceeds to sway and dance around the stage in her business-like skirt and blouse. Suddenly the boss taps his own chest twice with his right hand. The secretary sees this and, once again, unwillingly but almost automatically opens the buttons of her blouse and takes it off. She dances some more until a similar command is issued by his tapping his hand on his hip. Off comes the skirt and she continues to dance in her bra and panties.

There's lots of shots of the PI, looking pensive and then disapproving as he clearly feels she shouldn't let her boss control her like this. Eventually the moment we've all been expecting happens and the boss taps his chest once more. She looks over at the boss, imploringly, but he sits there poker-faced. She reaches around to the back of her bra and unhooks the clasp.

Unfortunately this wasn't a porn film and, at this exact moment, the PI decides he can't watch this lady's humiliation any more and storms out of the club. We never did get to see her tits but it was a very sexy scene - especially so to an 11-year-old boy who was sneakily watching late night TV. ;-)

The second film is one I saw several years later in Belgium, of all places. It was in Flemish but clearly dubbed, presumably from English originally but I'm not sure. This was a soft porn flick that followed the adventures of a master hypnotist.

In fact, he was more like a guy who had a mind control super-power. He didn't need to swing a pocket-watch back and over in front of your face. If you were with 100 yards of him, and he wanted to control your mind, he could.

The set up was that he hired himself out to amoral business types who'd like to use his powers for no good. The only scene I caught fully involved him standing on a pavement at night, across the road from the house of some business tycoon his current client wanted to blackmail. Their solution? He made the guy's wife get up out of bed, walk into the next room, turn on the light there, open the curtains and, in full view of the street, strip out of her nightclothes until she was naked.

Unfortunately for her, and her husband, the mind controller had a camera with him and he recorded the whole performance.

That's all I saw of this film though as my room-mates arrived back to the hotel I was staying in.

If anyone has any ideas I'd appreciate them. If I could only see that sexy scene from the first movie again, I'd be happy. That said, I would love to see all of that second film. :-)

I don't know about the second movie, but the first one is almost certianly; Sins of the Night. The woman who strips is the gorgeous Deborah Shelton (who was in her mid 40's at the time!). I think it is this one. Funny how your memory can play tricks on you. I was sure she was wearing a blouse and skirt but it's actually a blue gown and I'd also completed edited out the fact that the detective leaves with another woman.

She obviously didn't seem too important to my young self. ;-)

Which Road House? The one from 1928, or 1934, or 1948?

I'm sure that it was the 1989 version of Road House, that stonedoregonian was thinking of. That movie has a similar scene to the one the original poster described.

I've checked out the Road House scene (I'd never seen that movie, believe it or not) and it is hot. But the girl clearly enjoys stripping. What I like about the scene from Bogart's Face is that she's uncomfortable doing it.

Has anyone any ideas on the second movie I mentioned?

I've got a new request for you folks.

Another movie from my teenage years. It involved a cliched scenario - guy's buddy is involved in the production of a film. They're auditioning actresses for a role and he brings him along. Whaddya know - the scene the actresses all have to read from involves them ending up topless! :-)

The first actress we see reading the lines is pretty hot and she strips off too. Thumbs up there. The second actress is obviously intended as humour as she's quite chubby and just as she's about to get to the line where she should start to strip the guy in charge says "That will be fine. Thank you." However, she rebels at this point, accuses them all of discrimination as she's fat and practically rips her own shirt off, to show them her big, hanging tits.

The third girl we see is a cutey but it turns out she's too shy to do the strip. In fact, she ends her audition early. The lead character then gets up from the table and follows her out to console her and, if I recall correctly, she becomes his love interest for the rest of the film.

I can't remember a thing about the film apart from this scene though! Is it ringing any bells with anyone?

There was a movie broadcast on the BBC in the late 70s.
It seemed to be set in a sunny place in some southern ocean or other...
The period seemed to be in the 19th century as a sailing ship was involved...

Lepers were being transported to an island reserved for their exile.
They were being transported in a cage on the deck of the ship.
When the ship arrived near the island the door of the cage was opened and its occupants emptied out into the sea. (Presumably to prevent the crew coming into contact with them).
The new arrivals must then swim to the shore of the island.
As the new arrivals reached the beach, most of them were robbed unceremoniously by the residents.

One woman walking out of the sea was accosted by two islanders who stripped her quite literally in about two seconds. They grasped her gown at the neck and tore it down to her ankles in an instant, leaving her full-frontally nude. Her expression did not change during this attack.

Two others of the new arrivals, being a man and a woman obviously attached, and still in the sea, looked at each other aghast at this.
They emerged from the sea each holding a large rock with which to defend themselves, and three or four of the resident islanders, although ready to rob them also, did not attack but let them onto the island unharmed.

Later in the film the island was visited by officials of some description, who found the two who had been prepared to fight. The man had been the leper and the woman his companion, and they were still living there.

This is all I remember. I was about 15 at the time of this broadcast (in about 1978 or 1979) and I remember the attack very well, but unfortunately none of the actors or the title of the film.

I do hope anyone on OCC can help me with this, I would be eternally grateful.

I seem to think it was something to do with a Volcano erupting on an Island with crappy special effects of molten lava killing off the native 'extras' - but not the hero and heroine.

Could possibly be Krakatoa:East of Java (1969)

Hey just wondering if anyone ever found that second movie about the hypnotist?

A woman who is an actress in fliming a movie. Her husband or boyfriend is directing the movie. There is a scene were an art dealer is looking at paintings that her movie husband has painted. He sees a painting of her nude and wants to buy it. She is embaressed. They have a sex scene and accidently have sex for real. The husband is turned on and starts writing more sex scenes into the film.
