Asheville - US Bible Belt Topless Demonstration
 

Ashville, North Carolina, in America's Southern Bible Belt, was the scene of a topless demonstration Sunday, August 21, 2011.

Leaders were quoted as saying "That it's time to push back against a social stigma that makes women uncomfortable to go bare-chested while men can." You Go Girls :D:D:D

The protest and others like it across the United States were organized by GoTopless.org, a website based in Great Britain.

Local police say topless woman aren't breaking the law. They say North Carolina's indecent exposure law bans the exposure of private parts below the waist.

That's Asheville!! If that is the Bible Belt, Asheville is the missed belt loop. The place is filled with crystal gazers, mystics, herbalists, unrepentant liberals and unreconstructed hippies. And the mountains are beautiful. Biltmore House makes The Plaza look like a shanty.:D:eek::cool:

I was there last year. For some reason the event for this year completely slipped my mind, even though I had put it into my mind to go. Maybe subconsciously I didn't to waste my time after going last year. The cutest chick there was some dirty homeless girl.


What qualifies as excellent to you? I'm not interested in exclusive pictures of the crowd.

Thanks for the link, though, nitpicker nonpareil that I am, you should be aware it's from '10, not '11; the woman pictured is Gypsy, who's been a poster here (though not recently, regrettably!) as MyNakedTruth: see https://forum.oneclickchicks.com/show...242#post789242 for what I believe is the first mention of her nudity at the event, and note she's wearing the same thing (!). The full set flickr.com/photos/fishst1ck/sets/72157627032425315/ does list that it was '10, and individual photos indicate an upload date before this year's event. Here's the moment she made the transition, from the set linked above; note that there are much bigger "o" sizes available there. While I'm on the subject of trivial quibbles, is there any interest/willingness to combine this thread w/the "Ashville" one, so that neither those flickr finds nor the excellent originals from mattingl need go separate lonely ways?

Great shots. Hats off, I mean tops off to the collectors and the awesome Asheville ladies. I missed the fun and live a 5 min walk from it all. My wife would have loved it with a glass of wine/confidence.

As the the guy who started the now "Asheville" thread, had it immediately dawned on me that this was like the WNBR with many cities participating I would have named it appropriately so that all cities could be included. I think the suggestion from Crispus makes a whole lot of sense. If the mods are willing and able I hope they do combine the threads.

I went there for the purpose of covering it for us, so I might as well post more high res shots....

I merged the threads. Does anyone have any pics from anywhere other than Asheville or New York?

Those were pretty hard to locate the way it is. Suppose we could contact the photographer but that is a journalistic piece. Of course so is the rest of this protest. This is more political than sexy and this country needs more protest imo.
