Not trying to sound dumb but what was the purpose of these belts ? Some seem bazaar looking.

Today they are mostly used for BDSM play but in olden times (think Game Of Thrones era) they were used to keep your woman "Pure" (ie: not getting laid) while you were away at battle etc. The front part usually had serrations like animal trap jaws that would make sure they male would have a bad if he tried to have sex with a lady who was wearing one.

Maybe they were/are used to keep the woman "pure" but some of the examples shown, specifically one, allowed total access for anal sex which BTW is just as pleasurable as vaginal sex... at least for the man, that is.
