UK Television "My Secret Body"
 

I was stumbling around the web and found these caps. Before posting I did a search on OCC to see if they had been posted before - nope - but they had been discussed.

So here you go. Brits talking about their bits. Only in England...though I here the show is being imported to Canada by Endemol (yep the people who bring you "Changing Rooms" and "Deal or No Deal")

The .mpg clip is the show's opening - Warning - for those of you who get squeemish at the sight of a naked man, there are a few in it, (of course you could just get over yourself and ignore the odd willy).

The .avi clip is from a segment of the show about pubic hair. In it, women (yes women only) discuss and display the way they trim their minge.

I have made a few caps, but I did not make the clips. All credit to whoever did.

Wow. Americans (myself included) are pretty much indoctrinated from birth that the British are prudes, but after seeing this and Armstrong and Miller's first Nude Practice sketch (https://forum.oneclickchicks.com/showthread.php?t=9429), I think almost the opposite must be true. Not to mention streakers, Page 3, and all that... Good stuff.

Hi Fango. I have no idea where that idea is propagated from, I think something to do with far too many 18th century books. From all accounts we're one of the least prudey nations there is ;)

Yeah, the Janet Jackson thing would barely have caused an upturned eyebrow over here in the UK, but still we have a reputation as the prudes.
"Go figure" as you guys would say.

Anyway, after 9pm in the UK, anything goes. It's a feckin' adult free for all!!!

... we're just capitalists. You can see all the nudity you want on TV, as long as you pay for it. Not to mention we have a multi-billion dollar porn industry and the internet.


Yes, our politicians got bent out of shape about Janet Jackson, but it's a farce. You can walk down the street and see as much as Janet showed.

What does it all mean? Suffice it to say that LOCAL affiliates, and thus, LOCAL advertisers have a lot more control over the content of TV programming. Plus there is the now ingrained belief that Americans who want to look at naked bodies will PAY to do so - through premium cable, pay-per-view, and DVDs - and that there is no incentive in simply giving it away for free over the airwaves.
