Measuring the rise
 

It is called the rise. That's the distance between the crotch and the waist.

I've never had mine measured like that, but I suppose if one is really gonna wear something skin tight, that would be a necessary measurement. If it is truly skintight, I'd think the inseam might be a sexier measurement.

The only time I've been measured directly on my skin -- other than as a penalty -- was when I've had a bra fitting.
