Also: I don't like to give spoilers of what's going to be on my list. Secondarily, that's why I always end my list by asking all of you what your favorite things of the year were. My list has always been intended to stimulate discussion so that we can each share what our personal favorite things of the year were and hopefully find some great stuff that we may have missed, but hardly anyone ever takes me up on the offer. Somewhere along the way, my list seemingly began to be considered as the be-all, end-all arbitration of what was good in any given year, which it was never intended to be.

Anyway, this is totally off-topic and self-indulgent, so please carry on.
