Gertrude – The Cry at Theatre N16 London
I see a lot of live theatre (all types) & went to see Gertrude – The Cry at Theatre N16 London on the basis of a good theatre review & because I had enjoyed the previous 2 Barker plays I'd seen (neither containing nudity in these versions).
Having watch this version of Gertrude I would recommend for at least 3 reasons: 1 It is genuinely a very good play extremely well acted by the whole cast. For that reason alone it deserves a wider audience. 2. Isabella Urbanowicz as Gertrude 3. LJ Reeves as Ragusa The performance takes place on a narrow stage in the centre of the room with at most 20 seats on either side. So wherever you sit you will be very close to the stage / action. The 1st scene is the murder of Gertrude's husband where her lover insists she is naked for the act (only topless seen) & thence the 2 of them make love on top of her deceased husbands body. Thereafter there is a blow job scene (partially hidden but his asset clearly in hand & visible), some very sexy scenes with Gertrude dressing 'as a wh*r*', showing off her lovely legs & flashing her panties at appropriate moments. Later, after Gertrude has given birth to her lover's child, she breast feeds first her lover and then the baby. Later she flashes her breast at her Mother-in-Law and strips to her knickers whilst changing into a wedding dress. Meanwhile LJ Reeves as Ragusa just has the one topless scene where she tempts Gertrude's lover into her bed. Both Isabella Urbanowicz and LJ Reeves are extremely attractive - as well as very good & convincing actors. Indeed their (and rest of the cast) acting skills alone deserve to be seen by a bigger audience. Throughout the lighting is good & the sex, nudity violence & bad language in the script accurately feeds through into the performance. That's a Gregory Crewdson picture isn't it? Certainly looks like it.

Breakfast at Tiffanys
I saw the Anna Friel West End production years ago and she appeared naked back then. I was just wondering if anyone has seen the new Pixie Lott version and if there's anything similar?

Porno Chic
Not sure if anyone saw this in Manchester at the fringe festival... It's a production by Vertigo theatre about the making of Deep Throat. Promised to have some nudity. Can't find many descriptions out there.
But by look of it it might be returning to Manchester in the near future and then touring the uk.... |

The 2 images featuring Katie Bernstein are from the first tableau, the remainder from the blitz sequence. Hope you think they were worth the effort! |

Twenty four hours later and I’m still recovering from seeing a preview of Lucy McCormick’s upcoming Edinburgh show ‘Triple Threat’. First of all an apology for not flagging this up earlier but I only became aware at the last minute. The show was downstairs at London’s Soho Theatre and they are promoting the Edinburgh shows in August. See the link for details.
hxxp://www.sohotheatre.com/whats-on/lucy-mccormick-at-the-edinburgh-fringe/ Regular readers of this thread will be aware of Lucy’s work and she spends at least half the hour long show with her bush out. However, the show is hugely more enjoyable than typical performance art nudity for no real reason. In no particular order expect power ballads, excellent choreography assisted by her two male accomplices, naked crowd surfing, coffee granules and the ‘Doubting Thomas’ segment that no one is going to forget in a hurry. I ought to mention the show is based on the life, death and resurrection of Jesus. It was a gloriously uplifting show that got a riotous reception from the audience. I’m hoping the Soho theatre will program it back in London in due course. If you can get to Edinburgh do check it out. You might also be interested that serial breast flasher Bridget Everett is on at the Soho Theatre till Saturday 30 July. |

Has no one made it to Lucy McCormick’s Edinburgh Fringe show? I wrote a quick review of a preview a few weeks ago. To find what your missing don’t just take my word for it but check out the reviews below. It’s not often you find the words “furiously fingering her up the actual jacksie” in a five star theatre review!

“furiously fingering her up the actual jacksie” means what in English?
|
'Jacksie' is English slang for 'bottom' or 'anus'.

also in Brussels in Kaaitheater (07.10 – 08.10.2016):
Mette Ingvartsen 7 Pleasures Borderless bodies In 7 Pleasures, Mette Ingvartsen examines seven cepts of pleasure. She shows you that desire and pleasure are everywhere, not only when it comes to sexual contact between people, but also as a kind of continuum between objects, bodies and their environment. A group of twelve performers gives shape to these sensory sensations. In a long, sensual movement, bodies touch one another, lose their boundaries, vibrate and form unexpected constellations with their environment. Little by little, an experience that awakens pleasure in all its glory becomes visible. |

Mette Ingvartsen 69 Positions Sexual utopia Nakedness, excesses, orgasmic eroticism, ritualistic pleasure, audience participation and political engagement: all are expressions of a sexual utopia, which was typical of the counterculture and experimental performances of the 1960s. But what does this utopia still mean today? In Ingvartsen’s solo – which maintains a good balance between exhibition and performance – she explores the way in which we deal with our bodies and sexuality today. She leads you through videos, performances, books, films, movements, text and image and thus brings history back to life. |

London’s Soho Theatre is once again offering some top quality stage nudity. Currently playing is ‘Two Man Show’ by the RashDash Theatre Company. The two main performers Helen Goalen and Abbi Greenland are topless for much of the 70 minute show and fully naked for around 10 minutes half way through. During the naked section the third performer, the excellent musician Becky Wilkie also strips off completely. I’ve seen several shows by this group and this was the first time I’ve seen them fully nude although Abbi Greenland has been briefly topless before in a previous show.
The show is in the small Theatre Upstairs so you are very close to the performers. It’s also played in the ‘traverse’ with the audience both sides of the performance area. There is no stage so this means effectively there are two front rows to get a good seat. I would recommend front row in the centre or one of the raked seats in the centre. Beware the second row adjacent the entrance as this does not have a rake so if you get a tall person in front you are blocked. I easily got a front row seat by keeping close to the bar exit when they put the call out that the theatre is open. Details are here: hxxp://www.sohotheatre.com/whats-on/two-man-show/ There are some good photos on the site that give a reasonable idea of what to expect. The nudity in the photos is under lit. This is not the case in the actual show. The show had excellent reviews from the Edinburgh festival and was packed when I went on Saturday (prior to press night) so it might be worth booking ahead if you want to go on a peak night. |

Went to the circus, it had advertised nudity but really it was only the one topless scene, the rest was guys having stuff hanging from their balls/having it sucked by a vacuum.
Here's what I got anyway. |
