I've read the FB conversation. 27cows, you're not an hypocrite and i know what i'm talking about. You like the event and the perspectives it offers... let's imagine a day where most people everytime could appear and gather nude in the street without any troubles... This is what you dream of, right ? I do for sure...
The conversation is more hypocrite as far as i can read... childish young women discovering life and desire is not a simple thing (yes some men will look at your pictures my dear, some you call a bit quickly "perv"... isn't it lovely, to make someone happy ?). And hypocrite old men pretending "Nudity is great but not sexual", come on... puritanism in a nudist disguise, isn't ? I like nudity, i like porn... am i a perv ? Oh ! How embarassing... as a matter of fact i don't give a s**t about that... You're pictures are a pleasure to look at and this very WNBR thread is always respectful fascination for women beauty a secret wish to see the world in peace with sex, desire and love... EROS is the only interesting god thanks for sharing, and let those who need to grow up, growing up... |

I am in agreement with the other snappers here - I almost forget some times that OCC is a "porn" forum. The snappers that cover events such as the WNBR and post in the E&V section are a distinct breed. I've gotten to know many of you, and it is our love of these events and those that bravely participate that inspires us to take photos. But, we get smeared and lumped with the porn addicts. Not long ago, I was wondering if it might be possible for some guidelines to be posted here concerning event photography, something that would also let readers know that we care about these events and the participants, and are respectful of the women that we shoot. So any guidelines would serve a dual purpose - one, to inform new photographers that they need to "put themselves above the pervs" and respect all riders. And two, to let folks on the outside know that event photography is NOT porn, and that we are really scarcely different from other non-porn posting sites when it comes to hosting and enjoying these images. So, I do believe OCC could help address this issue and find a way to highlight the special nature of event photography while perhaps also distancing it somewhat from the usual "porn" (which I am not going to try and define - everyone has his own definition :)). just IMHO - Davidavin (klondike) |

Also a heads up - out here in the NW, Portland has another day ride scheduled for Saturday, the 14th. Also, Eugene OR has one the same day. Decisions, decisions......which one should I attend because I can't do both!!
three more pics of mine from last Saturday - D (K) |
OCC is more than a porn forum. It has porn on it but it also has art, humour, and serious discussions. Like the name states, it is predominently a forum for posting (beautiful) images of (beautiful) women. While most men are of the opinion that most women are at their most beautiful when undressed, there are plenty of non-nude threads, which are fully within the spirit of OCC. Naked Mile and WNBR pictures are also fully within the spirit of OCC and in my view are a much better selling point than any of the pornographic content.
And the majority of Naked Mile and WNBR pictures are not pornographic pictures any more than the Naked Mile and the WNBR are pornographic events. Not all nudity is pornography, and the photographers who zoom in at crotch level are very much a minority even here. I suspect that most participants will be looking for pictures of themselves on the internet, and if they do it properly they will find themselves here. Hopefully they will see from the comments how much we appreciate them - not just their bodies but their smiles, their sense of fun and adventure, the effort in their costumes and decoration, and in many cases their friendliness. I doubt they appreciate the amount of enjoyment they bring us - they aren't doing it for us they are doing it for their own enjoyment - and the last thing any of us want is to stop or inhibit them. Of course it is blatant sexism, we are objectifying women, we get excited when they are naked and embarrassed, and I expect any who become aware of being posted here will probably be uncomfortable, embarrassed and angry. OCC's policy is to remove pictures upon request but how many requests actually get made? If a woman finds herself posted in this thread there are probably a dozen equally embarrassing or more intrusive pictures of her scattered across Flickr and other photo-sharing sites, never mind 4chan and the seedier end of the internet, and at least here you are appreciated rather than judged. If you are going to participate in a naked event, this goes with the territory. So I don't think they worry too much about it, and I don't think we should either. Feminists will always grumble about places like this but any harm we do is minimal and the internet is bursting with far worse offenders. If anything our crime is being too popular, too mainstream, too visible a target! Ugh, I hate seeing big blocks of text on a thread like this. Someone post some pictures!! |

yeah, this happens every year. Big blocks of text in a WNBR thread. I'm as guilty as anyone. Here's another pic...

hxxps://www.flickr.com/photos/27228519@N02/with/14216065388/ for portland pics, do a general search for Portland + wnbr or world naked bike ride or naked or whatever. If you just search world naked bike ride you'll get all the Brighton and UK stuff too, but its no different than scrolling through this thread :) D (K) |

more text, sorry, but...
For me, this will be the first time, since I think the second year of the NBR, I won't be able to attend either London or Brighton, for personal reasons.
Something that strikes me looking through the pictures - great as they are - is that they just don't - can't - capture the experience of taking part. Massed bike rides are amazing enough (and beat solo commuting though rush hour traffic anyday), but add to that the exhilaration of being naked, everyone around you being naked and the people you pass (esp those not expecting anything like this) enjoying it hugely. It's a lovely great daft event, worth being part of. Everyone grins, laughs, dances. If you are thinking of getting the tube in tomorrow with your SLR, leave it at home. Sling a pocket or bridge camera around your neck, take your bike, and take part. Seriously, doing it is far better than any number of image files on memory cards afterwards. The forum may be poorer, but you won't regret the decision. |
Those last photos from Portland are OUTSTANDIG !! :p
Here is an also oustanding set from Brighton - over 1,000 images : hXXps://www.flickr.com/photos/51205467@N04/sets/72157644695747878/ Some pics from Manchester : hXXps://www.flickr.com/photos/spinneyhead/sets/72157645061039572 And over three hours footage from Brighton in ten parts : hXXps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ZZkq3XcD6A hXXps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ok4HoxLcH_s hXXps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mhqkmcs2HcE hXXps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O9Mze8v6qtQ hXXps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jjSu0-DX65s hXXps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A3sakaUqdWA hXxps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uxp8csyICKo hXXps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OxrXvbdFQJ4 hXXps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1oPEFrHAdXY hXxps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lpG99fN3Aeg Enjoy :) |

Finally it's tomorrow
I had a tough time this morning over lunch at work explaining the ride to the folks am with (so far away from London at this time). I got mixed reactions from laughs to horrendous stares, even one calling it gross and even a few having heard of it in the news (That's what I expected! It made news). Another lad threw me this question: "So, who wins the race in the end? Any medals? ". And I got this for him: "Ever read Alice in Wonderland? The caucus race? In the end, Everyone has won, except that the prize here is having been one of the privileged few of having completed it". I of course got on with a little bragging (couldn't help it!) of my antics in the yesteryears and challenged 'em to go and find me out on the Net ;)
Am praying everything turns out perfectly esp regarding the weather as there's quite a bevy of lovely English, Iberian, Italian, East European ladies (personally know three of the lot I've searched just now on FB) signed up, much much more than last year - as Brighton was last week, this looks like the making of a landmark year! Week after that, I've got a date with the Three Lions in Brazil and a taste of its beaches, lol... crazy weekends... :D |

London tomorrow
If you have a smartphone and wish to follow riders' location then see below. Taken from the Facebook site
A few people have asked about how to find us when we're on the move, e.g. if you miss the start. This year, we'll be testing out Glympse. If you install the free app on your smartphone, you can join the !wnbrlondon group (the ! at the start is important), then broadcast your location. Anyone else can then go to this website to find out where we are: hxxp://www.glympse.com/!wnbrlondon NB If you use the app then you need to leave it running so that it will keep up with your current location. Hopefully we will see the ride as 6 separate groups initially, which then merge together. |

Others: Call me snide, but as implied in https://forum.oneclickchicks.com/sho...&postcount=622 , my previous take on this matter of utmost import is that it's actually to prevent the kind of shrinkage that a long bumpy ride might precipitate, rather than curbing excessive, erm, enthusiasm... Side note: most of these are from a user who may have thought they were "private"; i.e. they don't show up in searches or in his photostream, but once posted to a flickr group, become visible to anyone belonging to that group. |

wnbr LA
the los angeles ride is scheduled for tomorrow(6/14/2014), the starting point/ festival will be on the 400 block of N san fernando road (90031). I'm hoping someone from the community will be able to go admire and capture the event, I want to make it out there myself but my graduation is tomorrow so I am not yet sure if that will be a possibility
