thanks for the tip. i'm not a photo guy, so i have no idea what ISO is lol. or how to adjust my camera settings. i'll see what i can do :)

You have a Nikon - go figure. I work with Canon's so I'm not familiar with the body of the camera. however take out your manual or look at the camera and find the ISO setting - sometimes under settings or just a button. set the iso to 400 or 800. Then look for white balance under settings as well and set the white balance to Auto at first - AWB and see how it comes out, if it's off, try custom - where you take a picture of something in the room under the lights that's white to determine what's a "true" white.
